I much prefer it this way.
It means that underplayed maps can't just be skipped over easily and keeps overplayed ones out of the rotation for longer
Exactly my thoughts, I am already playing maps I have barely played before and it's great! Before it was Breeze, SG4 and Solar Frost on a constant rotation.

I didn't understand the poll, I'll edit it to make it more understandable without reading your post.

Like I said this is more about the skip amount being upped than the 4 previously played map count.

Guys: It's not my first choice for the 4 rotation but I don't mind it. This is very primarily about the skip count being increased.

The low skip count was the problem. People saw stuff that wasn't Breeze or SG4 and just thought 'meh, just skip' and the underplayed maps would be swept under the carpet, again.
The fact that people have to now decide 'do I use my vote on a skip? Or maybe SG3 might not be too bad? Let's give it a go'
The fact that these maps don't get skipped means that people can start to learn them better, and as with Breeze and SG4, they become more popular, resulting in less underplayed and overplayed maps.
To sum up, The new voting system should in theory, result in a much better balance regarding the amount each map is played

But then when those maps like breeze and SG 4 are on the voting list and you only have 12 players, it's basically impossible to skip it. Or other maps that you just might not be a fan of.
