Awesome idea!
I'd, however, prefer to see a larger amount of data, as this is a community with thousands of players on at a given time.

Perhaps the statistics change for late-night players? Maybe the lower number servers are different than higher number servers.

Also, consider that a specific player has different circumstances than others. Perhaps the statistics change for late-night players? I threw on a Huahwi skin recently (lol), and that, combined with what I deal with already, with a purple name, and a minecon cape...? Yeah, plenty more targeting, teaming, and overall trouble with on-the-spot teaming on me in DM.

Again, glad to see people taking a smarter, statistical approach to this.

We do plan on collecting more data, from a range of times, days, and even regions. That's just going to take a lot of time with the amount of people we have working on this at this current time.

As for the purple name portion of your post, having said things could and probably have an affect on the statistics, but for this study in particular, that isn't really included. Mainly because with the people we have right now, we can't really keep track of that. (We basically don't have a VIP to help us out to see if there is a difference in the games) and that this study is to get the idea of what are the average stats are of an average game. Having a VIP in the game is a variable that should be recorded as another study to see how having a VIP in the game affect the amount of teams are in-game.

Thanks for the good points. :)
The current data table we are using includes time, server #, map, # or players at start, number and size of teams, # of trash talking instances, # of hackers, whether a team makes it to deathmatch, and if a team is the last players alive. You do bring up a good point though, that trash talking and targeting are affected by rank. We should probably add a "rank of player gathering data" column as well. VIP's probably get targeted a lot and moderators probably run into less hackers,etc... FireworkMaster9

As it stands we are also not counting deathmatch "panic teams" as teams, because they are usually just a desperate final shot at a win for undergeared/less skilled players, but we could add a column for that as well, as deathmatch teams seem to be a big frustration here.

Anyways, we do still need more data, but we are certainly already seeing trends with the fifty games we have down so far. I have ran into two hackers in the twenty or so US games I have spectated, but around 15-20 hackers from the seven EU games I have spectated. The rumors about EU are very true, unfortunately.
