POSEIDON'S LAIR
-This secret cave is called Poseidon's Lair and will continue to be improved until it looks really amazing. I want this to be a part of the map people really want to visit. Any suggestions are totally welcome!

-another side note
The idea of the map so far has been pretty linear. Big buildings, bridges, the normal kind of thing you would see in a map. But I really want this map to be unique. If the idea doesn't pan out I can easily go back on the plans, but I'm starting to add a sort of "second level" to the map. You can sort of see that by the screenshots of the really tall tree and the domes in the air. But I'm planning to go a lot more in-depth than that, and make this second level playable, with chests and everything. Expect screenshots in the future (I'll be pretty busy soon, so I may or may not get to this project this week). :D

In terms of the lighting problem, why don't you just build a semi-glass wall around the map and remove the dome, and world-edit in a ocean that comes up to the top of the wall outside. You could make the wall all futuristic looking, cos it's holding back a ocean. XD

I like the idea. I could just remove the top of the dome, which is causing the errors. I can't really change any of the wall besides the top though, without crashing the server because of all of the water...we'll see :)

This part of the map is high up in the sky, about 100 blocks. The only way up at the moment is through the Elder Tree, which you can see in the first screenshot below. I wanted to keep the accessible parts in this "sky path" area relatively small, so gameplay stays intense. I also linked a video I made...this will continue to be improved, so any input can change the map ;)
