Hmm. I see, Maybe the people who look over the players shouldkeep more attention to them.Still, 12 year old mods. I wouldn't want that. just no..

So just because it would take longer, they don't want anyone under 14 applying? That sounds very unfair.I think its the safer option to have an age limit, purely to filter the applications. It's true that there are many mature 12-13 year olds (I skipped a grade, so I know it firsthand (13 in grade 9 and born in April)), but imagine having to filter through all of the results of the 13 year old players (in my experience, the average age of MCSGers). It would be a nightmare.
No, it works. They would be swamped in bad applications and finding good ones would take too long. Truly worthy applicants can get an age exception. So just because it would take longer, they don't want anyone under 14 applying? That sounds very unfair.
I can explain the reasoning for that, or at least my interpretation. Let's call your maturity level "1" when you spammed. Now you have grown to a "2". However, people with no prior bans had a "1.5" maturity level; they have grown at the same rate you have, so now they are at a "2.5". While you may have gotten better, those who already were better maturity wise are even better.12 or 13 would be good no lower..... I also wish they would give people with spam bans like me a chance after awhile of maturing :/
Maybe but when it comes to that u learn by your mistakesI can explain the reasoning for that, or at least my interpretation. Let's call your maturity level "1" when you spammed. Keyword there is "generally". Also, Because of the age limit and saying there would be more applications, They are losing people perfect for the job. I think that even if they have to read more applications, they may get more staff that will benefit the server! My opinion :B
I believe that there should be an age requirement to be a moderator. Here is my reasoning:
While there are certainly exceptions, the fact of the matter is that maturity and public relation skills develop with time. These are key qualities with becoming a staff member. This is one of the major reasons as to why we have a requirement. The decision has been made based off the logical thinking that older people generally act more maturely in comparison with younger people.
As stated above, there are age exceptions. Now the particular reason as to why these are so hard to get is because of the aforementioned topic. The boundary between the maturity of younger versus older people is quite tremendous according to what we've seen in the community. This is often why you need to really prove yourself in an age exception. You need to prove that you are 100% as mature as the requirement. You will be held to a higher standard of judgement when reviewing your application.
Just remember, we have the age requirement to ensure the quality of our staff team. It's a precautionary measure if anything. Nonetheless, it is necessary.
One final thing to mention is that if there were no age requirement, the Sr. Staff would receive hundreds added to the numerous amount of staff applications that they already have from age appropriate candidates. Obviously, not all of the staff applications make it past the first stage of review. Decreasing the age requirement, or getting rid of it all together, would greatly increase the number of nonsensical applications released. Therefore, it would increase the overall amount of applications denied due to the reasoning stated in the first paragraph.
