Sprint never breaks. It gives the advantage of moving around a lot quicker. It also means you are able to do things such as sprinting while on fire.

You don't need BSM to sprint while on fire...

So the only difference is that people on 1.7.2 have to hold down the key and BSM users can press it once. I don't really see how it gives anyone an advantage. Once you hold down the sprint button everything works just like BSM does. Plus, since Mac users can bind it to caps lock they basically have the equivalent to BSM but better, since 1.7.2 has it's advantages over BSM as well since they can start sprint in mid air. Yes, the mod was a huge problem back in the 1.6 days and before that, but now that the newest version of MC has almost identical sprint mechanics I think this is pointless... There are so many people, like me that are forced to play on 1.6.4 because of Optifine. Why aren't we allowed to get BSM? MCSGers on 1.7.2 have a massive advantage over us JUST because they have better PCs. How is that fair in any way?

Yes it has, MooMan came back and has been assigned to work on MCTF2, while the others work on other issues.

Okay, guys. Seriously. You all did a fantastic job getting rid of BSM. Now there's 1.7.2 sprint that has the same qualities, perhaps even more advantages than BSM (As stated by countless people). Optifine, the mod that enables COUNTLESS people to play on these servers without lag has not been updated as of now. The people who literally HAVE to play 1.6 can't compete with the people who have the new 1.7.2 sprint. The only way to enjoyably play is to install BSM to have a chance at fighting these people with 1.7.2 sprint. You are basically taking away their chances at being able to have fun playing MCSG until optifine is released.

The next thing is that, again, many people have stated this, 1.7.2 sprint not only has very similar qualities to BSM but is even more overpowered than BSM. The main argument you guys have been putting up is that, with BSM, you can sprint sideways and backwards. While this is true in SINGLEPLAYER, That is DEFINITELY not the case in multiplayer. Besides that, you can boost your speed while flying. Unless you're fly hacking in game, there's no advantage to players using that. with the 1.7.2 sprint, you can catch your sprint in mid air, and while swimming. In BSM you have to be touching the ground in order for the sprint to work.

Don't get me wrong, you guys did a phenomenal job on creating a system to detect someone using a modified client upon joining a server. Although this is groundbreaking, it is horrible timing and quite frankly, unnecessary in our current state.

They could have at least waited until optifine updated to 1.7.2. :/
Honestly, I really dislike double tapping against 1.7 users, it has made me die a lot more than I usually do. So yes, that means no MCSG for me until Optifine comes out, which will be at least another month. GG staff, should have put more thought into this, instead of assuming BSM is "pure evil" and includes things like sprinting sideways and backwards.

Better PC with no optifine= no lag.
Worse PC with no optifine = LOTS of lag.
