Keep in mind that new players are more likely to go on 1.7.2 than on 1.6.4 and they will have the new sprint key.Yes but it doesn't give them a pvp advantage

Bowhoo, I have used both, I know how they work. And I can tell you, because I have the money for a fancy mouse, I never stop sprinting with 1.7. There is no difference between 1.7. and BSM, except that 1.7 allows you to start your sprint in midair, and in water. So really, 1.7 is more OP than BSM.Zeno, in BSM you press one button and you sprint the whole game, you literally never stop until you run out of hunger. WAYYY MORE OP.
Yes but it is not BSM now is it? No Sprint lockKeep in mind that new players are more likely to go on 1.7.2 than on 1.6.4 and they will have the new sprint key.
GGThis thread isn't about whether or not BSM will be allowed; it won't be allowed. This thread is about the fact that it is now completely banned from being used.
To everyone making the point of "why disallow it if it provides no advantage": why do you want to use it so much if it provides no advantage?
Razer Synapse? PM me on how to do this pleaseBowhoo, I have used both, I know how they work. And I can tell you, because I have the money for a fancy mouse, I never stop sprinting with 1.7. Because I cannot go on 1.7.2 until Optifine comes out, meaning that everyone will have an advantage over people like me JUST because my laptop isn't good enough to run minecraft smoothly without it. Why can't you wait with the update until optifine comes out? That's honestly all I'm asking for. This thread isn't about whether or not BSM will be allowed; it won't be allowed. Devin, they've said over and over why they wish they could use it: They need to use Optifine in order to play. Optifine is not updated to 1.7. Using the vanilla 1.6 sprint system against vanilla 1.7 sprint system gives you almost no chance whatsoever of sprinting. For players that need Optifine, BSM is the only way to level the field and give them a fair chance at winning. This thread isn't about whether or not BSM will be allowed; it won't be allowed. Chad can you go to full 1.7 only once optifine is released as many users find it near impossible to play without optifine?I reopened this thread to continue this debate for 2 reasons with 1 condition (Dave didn't consult me first):
1) I want us to hear the comments and users opinions based on this matter. Both positive and negative.
2) To educate our players why BSM has been a widely used mod where it made unfair advantages for other honest, competitive players following the rules with vanilla clients.
Note: Just in case you don't read the rules at MCSG/MCGAMER, BSM always has been not allowed on our system since day one of it's creation.
Yes we actually listen but you need to understand that we take no tolerance for hacking/cheating that has been ruining the game for people who are competing honestly. On that note, the state of our system will possibly be the only time where we are supporting 2 versions of Minecraft based on the update severity (aka tons of things changed in the vanilla game where we are slowly adapting to it). Yes, sprinting may be unfair to people using 1.7 clients for the people using 1.6, but by next week there should be craftbukkit release where we will be full 1.7 Minecraft loosing the 1.6 support to level everything out again. Once that happens and BSM is still removed, everyone will have the same sprinting. Saying you need Optifine in order to run Minecraft has been always OK but BSM still will not be allowed. We may reevaluate if BSM stays the same in 1.7, but if the author makes even more features to make it more unfair to vanilla 1.7 clients even with the new sprinting, then no.
Condition: If the flame wars continue that provide no necessary additions or constructive criticisms to this topic, I will re-lock the thread.
TL : DR - Take 2 minutes of your time and read what I had to say.
