Even though people rage because they 'would have won' if they weren't punched into lava, I think this map was a great addition.
1. It gave a chance for solo players and noobs to win some fights, the only problem was the lava lag caused by having sound on. Just because you don't like getting punched into the lava doesn't mean other people don't like punching you in. Completely unarmed people have slightly more of a chance than on any other map. You don't have to win every game. To some, even one kill through punching someone in is a huge success.
2. There are no other maps like it. It's way too hard to die from the environment these days, and this map allowed that. You used to die if you didn't get food or navigate terrain easily enough, and now this new idea of lava brings a whole new challenge. Watch your feet!
3. Fast rounds+Easy navigation. You always knew where you were or how to get somewhere. I don't personally enjoy fast rounds but the majority of players do, making this map much loved and frequently played.
Another problem, though, was the fact that the excellent idea was executed kind of poorly. The map didn't look as good as it could have, contributing to its downfall. Maybe there'll be a successor one day.
