I think that this raises a point that sometimes too many people are in VIP chat so the trials can't converse with the clan, maybe some new practice or better choice of channel picking could resolve this problem.

When people are in the VIP chats or above, it is due to the clan members participating in a scrimmage, in which case they are not to be disturbed. When they are not scrimming or otherwise engaged, they will be in the regular chats. I thought about this issue when I was designing the TS, and it is why I do not (like the Rebels and Forgotten's TeamSpeaks do) have clan chats available to members only. Whenever the clan isn't busy with something, they will be available to talk to any potential applicants, and you are encouraged to play with them.
