Right! It's mind blowing man. Everyone who I used to play with is so old now. I occasionally chat with some of the old school players and BOOM. Completely different voices, everyone has man voices now.
Breeze Island used to annoy the living crap out of me because it's all anyone would vote for and everyone just ran in the water, but now no one plays it at all and I love when I get a chance to play on it. It's just unreal how much everything has changed.

Alright guys real talk 95% of the people that play mcgamer only play it for SG, so the majority of the target audience wanted something and they got it. We can all agree that 1.7 pvp is 100x better. You're not gonna get steam clapped by some randy that's getting cancer hits due to 1.8. Also i'm happy cause its much better for the clan community, 1.8 team fights are aids (we can all agree on that one) also games won't rely as much on picks off corn... 1.7 brings a little strategy back in to battles you actually need to think instead of just looking into a group of people and clicking hoping you get the lucky hits this time. I don't know just my thoughts on the whole thingg.

If the network is planning on keeping 1.7 for an elongated period of time:
Why not just go back to 1.2.5? We could function as an old CS 1.6/CSS server and stay in the past.

...unlikely.

That's why I don't get why MCGamer is downgrading. The features in 1.8 could be harnessed and used in so many unique ways (Take Hypixel for example) to make gamemodes that are actually enjoyable and bring in profit.

It can run both, but the cool gamemodes are in 1.8.
You say this but servers like hypixels are made for minigames and they are known for having these types of games that can harness the features of 1.8. Mcgamer is trying to do these minigames but it doesnt work, they are known predominantly for survival games so all of the new members coming to the server and all of the old members playing are playing for survival games. Since the mcsg aspect of mcgamer is based off of pvp they should be playing on the version in which pvp is better. Every other server that is based off of pvp never changed from 1.7 or did the same thing as mcgamer is doing now. We are just late to the party. The majority of the community supports this descision so this is helping mcgamer progress rather then enhancing there low population minigames and losing players.

I don't mean to triple-post, but...

  • The MCGamer administration swore that they would never return to 1.7, yet they did anyway. Somewhat unprofessional if you ask me.
  • Holiday Resort 2, Intertia, Green Grass, and Springfield SG will have to be revamped/removed due to the 1.8 blocks included.
  • Hackers galore - so many more clients will be available for anyone who wants to cheat on the network.
  • Invisible fire will likely be back.
  • The network is downgrading. Yep. DOWNGRADING. For an ever-evolving game, why would anyone ever want to downgrade? If anything, developers, I'd be working on figuring out how to include 1.9 elements into your gamemodes.
Just saying.

I believe you're mistaken. There were SEVERAL threads. I'll link a few:

Link me the post or thread in which they swore never to return, please. I'd like to have a look at it.
