Something tells me that even if we did decide to downgrade to 1.7, people would still complain. They'd just direct their complaints to the problems that plagued 1.7 in particular, such as the lack of development, plethora of hacking clients available, and unfairness between how 1.7 players and 1.8 players interact in-game. I'd like to remind people that 1.7 was far from perfect, and there are solid benefits to 1.8 that encouraged us to adopt it whole-heartedly.

But ultimately, our entire system is more or less built with 1.8 in mind, and that was one of the major reasons we were able to push out such major updates like the LBU and MCG V2; without having to worry about dual protocols (i.e. coding for 1.7 and 1.8), we are better able to churn our code at a much quicker pace, on top of it being overall more stable.

In order to revert to 1.7, we'd basically need to gut our entire system again. That's several months worth of work and a lot of money being sunk into something that we do not see the merits of; just because people say they left until 1.7 comes back doesn't mean they'll actually come back once 1.7 returns. Reverting back to 1.7 just isn't a practical move, no matter how many of times these sorts of threads get remade.

Honestly, if you really hate 1.8, don't demand to bring back 1.7. Wait to see 1.9.
Because we're an early adopter of 1.8, our roll-out of 1.9 will be much easier than other networks who are lagging behind. And we hope that the 1.9 combat update will address everyone's anti-1.8 PvP concerns.

If 1.9 is all that awful, we'll either not use most of the new features or just continue to use a previous version.
Yeah, I know... As accepting those features would mean downgrading. I'm quite sure somebody like StaR said that if 1.9 kills PvP the network's gonna stick with 1.8.
Forgot to mention it in my post... My bad >>

I didn't want to even read the entire thing because we are still complaining about something that happened 3 months ago. Switching to 1.7 WILL NOT HELP. It will 100% make it worse for the server.

OMG! They are not going back to 1.8...why are these threads being made?

I pointed out some of the things you said, I made them darker, And I will give a response to all 4 of them in the order they are listed above.

1) I honestly think that people will stop complaining, and instead you could make it 1.8 AND 1.7 compatable. Almost everyone wants 1.7 back, at this moment 71% voted that they don't enjoy 1.8 or that they want 1.7 back.

2) "Hacking clients" There's still a ton of hackers, even on 1.8

3) These threads get made alot, and I think that that has a meaning, the community just wants 1.7 back!

4) I really don't think that 1.9 will improve the PvP style, all i heard untill now is the fact that they are going to put cooldowns on stuff, probally on God apples (Notch Apples/ Item 322:1)

Hello tributes! (starting official so it looks proffesional)

I don't really play MCGamer anymore because of the fact that it is 1.8.
1.8 is the worst update from Minecraft, when I'm saying this, im talking PvP whise.
The Staff does not play alot of MCSG or other Gamemodes. What they do is their job, Moderating, Being on Teamspeak trying to help people out, But I think that MCGamer needs to listen a bit more to their community, because we used to be such a great community!
And 1.8 just ruined everything.

While playing on 1.8:
Huge lag spikes while pvping.
Clicking speed doesn't matter anymore.
Skill does not matter anymore.

And Yes, I do know that this will probaly get denied and you might think "No.. Not another thread like this." But I've been here for a long, long time. I was here when you were able to sponsor potions. And that's a long time, I've always loved playing on here, and that was why I bought myself platinum aswel.

I think that MCGamer should actually try and get back to 1.7
I don't think that anyone would be against that, I really think that players would start enjoying MCGamer again. I made a Poll above this thread where you can vote if you; Enjoy 1.8, Don't enjoy 1.8 but still play, want 1.7 and I'll start playing again.

I think that it will take some time to go back to 1.7, and I think that we will not care how long it takes, because the most of us (About 90%) want MCGamer back as how it used to be. I also think that we will all wait for the time that MCGamer needs to get back to 1.7 and that we all would appreciate it very much.

Thanks for reading this thread, And I hope that it was worth making this thread, Please take some time to vote on the poll above if you haven't already.

Greetings,

MaximMine

Edit: Why don't we make the server 1.8 and 1.7 ? I think that this would be an great solution for everyone, just like other servers, im not going to name them out because that will probaly be advertising, but they are 1.8 and 1.7, which gives players a great solution to choose if they want to play on 1.8 to get more FPS, or whether they want to play on 1.7 so they will not get those lag spikes.
I agree having both versions available would ultimately be better, but you'd have to update eventually. Best to get you used to it earlier than later.

1.9 is coming out soon + I don't see anything wrong with mcsg at the moment? I believe I am better at pvp in this update.

I don't think people should be trying to get MCgamer to go back to 1.7 as it is way in the past and most people have learnt to deal with it. All I can suggest is to take a Poll before MCgamer does big updates such as this one, because correct me if I am wrong there was no Poll for the 1.8 update. Or maybe there was a really beneficial reason for the 1.8 update which I am unaware of.

There was no poll because although the staff do like input from the Community Members, they needed to fix bugs in 1.7 & update whether the Community wanted to stay on it or not.
