They should add all those features and the new "fresh" leadearboards but, they should also keep the old leaderboars updated so that way we have 2 leaderboards. Personally I don't care about those new features and Im sure that if we keep both leaderboards it will be fair for everyone. People could decide to tryhard the new or the old leaderbords.
It will be the fairest solution
It would be the fairest solution if it was possible. It was stated in the original post, it wouldn't be possible/look unprofessional with how the current leaderboards are programmed.

Why not create a Lifetime Leaderboards, or two sets of separate dynamic Leaderboards? Something other than Legacy Leaderboards?
  • As stated in this Front-Page Announcement, number-crunching and statistics tracking on a scale that we have requires a lot of server power and resources. In order to accommodate for two different leaderboards systems, we would need to double the cost of the statistics server expenses. In turn, we would need to increase the price of the items on our webstore, which we do not believe would be a worthwhile move. As such, we would prefer to stick with only one statistics system and run with that.
Why can't we just augment the current leaderboards with the features of the new leaderboards?
  • Our current leaderboards system is old, almost 2 years old. When it was created, there was no intention for advanced statistics, regional stats, or weekly stats, because those things hadn't been thought of yet. Furthermore, they were coded to a different standard than our current coding abilities. As such, it has proven to be needlessly difficult to add new features to the old leaderboards system. It was decided that starting fresh, with a brand new leaderboards system, would be a better way to implement new features that people have been asking for.
Why not just carry all of the old statistics over to the new leaderboards?
  • Because we would be merging old statistics with some brand new ones, many of the statistics tracking would be unrepresentative. Imagine having a player with 2 years worth of wins, but only a few day's worth of another statistics. It would generally look unprofessional and goofy, and a fresh start would behave and appear much better. In addition, part of the reason we want to do a global reset is to set the record clean for new and old players alike. It's a fresh start for everyone.

After all this, I personally think the leaderboards should have simply been reset with new features and all before even consulting the public. Yes, people would be upset. Yes, people may stop playing. The thing is, the positive factors and weight of the players who want a reset compared to those who don't outweigh everyone voting no...

Remember when regional leaderboards were released? Gameplay wouldn't be much different than when this happened. Each game will have it's few people playing ultra competitively. I estimate that within a month or two the new leaderboards will stabilize and gameplay will slowly return to the norm, with which we'll be left shiny, new statistic tracking instead something basic and outdated. I'm curious to see what these new leaderboards would look like and how detailed they would be. Statistics can become something super detailed containing who exactly you killed in each individual game or how many times you've killed a certain player. It'd be more fun than anything.

Why you should vote no:

1. It will literally drag so many hackers into the community it would be insane. Most of them don't care about stats, just to ruin peoples game and just make them mad in general. We DO NOT want competitive hackers in this community. Just no.

2. Probably every single player with 1,5k wins or so will quit playing. Also you will lose a lot of great community members and youtubers like Gravey4rd. This will just ruin what they have accomplished during the last 2,5 years.

3. Just because some youtuber that you love or something said that you should vote yes doesn't mean you have to. Remember that you've got your own opinion aswell. Pretty sure the VIP's has got the /statsreset anyways, so if they want to reset their stats, they could just use that instead of ruining everyone else's stats. pls no h8 mi i m jus sayien da truth!!! xDxDxDXxxD
1. You are assuming it will drag hackers into the community. Also, if more hackers decide to play, more hackers will be punished.

2. I don't remember reading from all of the players with 1.5k + wins that they will be quitting.

3. People are persuaded by other people to vote a certain way all the time. Even if some people vote blindly, a vote is a vote.

I'm so happy to see people explain yes better than I could. Also, I would like to ask a question to everyone who voted "no"; why? And I don't want simple answers like "people worked hard for their stats". Although it's true, the reason they may do this is because it will support the server and make it go in the right direction. So please, explain how voting "no" will benefit the server more than making the decision of going through with the idea.

firstly im not cranky, secondly i definitely never asked for a stats reset, it seemed like it came out of the blue. also, i would say half the people voting "yes" just have bad stats in general which may be #1 cause for "yes" to be the most vote at the current time.

I am one to not like change but change can be good or bad and the leader boards resetting gives alot of good players to get up there. Believe it or not there are some players within the ranks 1 - 1000 that quit and don't even play. By all means if you players wanna leave due the fact of the leader boards resetting then your not a quote on quote Hardcore player. I know it sucks to lose all those wins but with some skill and alot of luck you can get those same statistics back. I my self have not reach even 200 so I am far away from 1000+ but I think that this will give me an oppurtunity to show the MCG community that I am skilled and I am sure alot of others want there chance too. (Thank you for reading!):)

hmm, I now can't decide between yes and no thanks to this post, this really makes sense.

Plus, judging that this yes has 40 more votes on this poll, whereas in the ingame poll it has about 7000 more votes there is a much higher chance that the stats will reset. Like you said, people will leave, but newer players will be able to take their spot and things will go back to normal a month or two after it happens.

oh, and this is the 999th post...

1. I am pretty sure you're not an EU region player, and if you are you are extremely lucky. On EU you can't play a single game without hackers in it. Either they die of spawn or they will chase for literally 5 minutes straight and say "gg" or something after they kill you.
And wouldn't it be great if more came, and they played to win? Yes, sure, that would be absolutely great. -_-

2. Well, then you're not that known in the community I suppose. Pretty much every single person that I have talked to about it doesn't want a leaderboard restart.

3. People made forum accounts just to vote for this poll. Literally. And yes, everyone wants to affect others opinion, but thats not the point. I think they should atleast make themselves an opinion and then work it out from there. Read some arguments against and for and think about it.

I honestly disagree with the reset. Even though it is I guess "Givjng the new players a chance at top" your also getting red of your community. Chad what are you doing?! Didn't you make this thing called "Stats Reset" for a reason. If we want a stats reset we'll get it ourselves. If your plan is to make it easier for new players to get to the top, that's rediculous. If they are NEW! players they won't get to the top anytime soon anyway. You want to get rid of hackers but a stats reset is going to increase that. Make this server better, don't run it in to the ground. I think I speak for everyone here when I say " Chad has been making worse and worse decisions lately". Come on Chad don't ruin this server for all of us. One subject I haven't seen people bring up is the fact that the Global Reset will mess with clans requirements. If there is to be a reset clans will have to start losing everything. Clans are a BIG part of the community. Trivium, Rebels, Rivals, ect. Don't screw this up Chad, please. ;(
