That's true, I my opinion the MCGamer has a very good Community at the moment. All communities can't be perfect (that's why we get hackers, "gg10 rekt people etc). We can't help it when the "bad sorts" join the servers. We can only hope for the bestWell.. Quality over quantity. Yes, a lot of players will come, but what kind of players? Happy fair sportsman-like players or BajanCanadian fanboy-hacker-rule breakers?
Yes, I totally agree. Although I think MCSG is very good, we do need some other quality gamemodes. I think if MCTF2 gets a lot of updates from Devs (I know they're working on it and that it is still in Alpha). Maybe MCTF2 will be as popular as it was in the pre-mcgamer era (before the plugin went wild).MCGamer needs to get some good exciting gamemodes before they get "a rush" of players joining the MCGamer Network.
Thanks for the comment, Col! I think several large networks may find a way to get round this, but I still think MCG could get some extra players from it. For example, on a certain large network (which I won't advertise ) some players are panicking that it's "the end of --------" (again, not going to advertise , this network is kind of well known for charging huge amounts of money for ranks). I don't know if that network will lose players or be able to work around it. Thanks again Col!This seems like a slippery slope argument, except it ends in our favor which is a refreshing change. However, that does not excuse the inherent improbability of everything working out perfectly like that to our benefit.
A lot of things need to work out perfectly according to your math: larger communities must be ousted for having illegitimate perks with no viable alternatives, Mojang will actually enforce its EULA with legal action, donators will be angry enough to quit despite any concessions or alternatives the community provides, those players would somehow find their way here despite the presidence of other communities and the always-possible option of starting their own community. Every single one of those must be true in order for this train of events to come true, and I can see issues with even one of them actually occurring.
Don't get me wrong: I'd love for morally-lax communities to get shut down rightfully so for their illicit dealings and for our community to benefit from the exodus. But before we start a parade for the expected golden age of player immigration, we should be realistic with our expectations. We should focus on the reality of now, rather than the fantasy of a month away.
Yep, it's a unwritten law of Minecraft servers:It would definitely be good to have more players on the network since they could donate to the servers or apply for moderator. But more people, means more hackers. One of the reasons that there are so many hackers on MCGamer is because they have a huge player base, and not every player is willing to follow the rules. I have nothing against more players, I just want to bring this up.
More players:
More Hackers
More Moderators to deal with Hackers
More Active, friendly players
More of every type of player
Thanks for all your comments!
