This is also why I stopped playing Hive a whole lot, The mojang developers did this to fix a "crit glitch" as far as I know, but the mojang developers don't consider the pvp side of minecraft, they think everyone plays survival.

Mojang r stupid heads.... PvP is the new thing. survival is old.

well mojang had already implemented in 1.7.2 making rods unable to make contact with players. A PLUGIN fixed it. A plugin will likely be made to change this back soon due to the negative opinion on this.

No, Vanilla minecraft always made it so you couldn't hit a player without the plugin, from the beginning it was like this, or atlease a long time.
