Introduction

Welcome all tributes to the 5th Official MCGamer Awards! These awards are the community’s chance to show appreciation for all of their MCGamer favorites. In their fifth iteration, the awards will be more exciting than ever, including unique new categories, exclusive new prizes, and loads of fun. On top of that, since this is the fifth set of awards and the last of the year, we have planned a special “Quarter Quell” twist. Not sure what that means? Let me explain!

To start off the awards, we need you as voters to nominate your favorites. The top five nominations in each category will move on the next stage, where things get interesting. Instead of the traditional voting system, we have implemented a system where nominees will periodically be voted out of the running. Below is an outline of the voting periods; and remember, you are voting for the person you want to be eliminated from the running.

(Nominations)Monday, November 17th: Announcement thread + nominations. Vote here: http://bit.ly/5thMCGA or click me
(Voting Status: CLOSED)

(Round 1)Sunday, November 23th: Nominees announced - 5 Total Nominees per Category. Vote here: http://bit.ly/5thMCGARound1 or click me (Voting Status: CLOSED)

(Round 2)Sunday, November 30th: Round 1 results announced - 4 Total Nominees per Category. Vote here: http://bit.ly/5thMCGARound2 or click me (Voting Status: CLOSED)

(Round 3)Sunday, December 7th: Round 2 results announced - 3 Total Nominees per Category. Vote here: http://bit.ly/5thMCGARound3 or click me (Voting Status: OPEN)

(Round 4)Sunday, December 14th: Round 3 results announced - 2 Nominees remaining

(Results)Tuesday, December 25th: Livestream of Closing Ceremony, Front page results

With this new style of voting, the awards will be more interactive than ever! Every few days, you will get to see which of the nominees won’t be moving on to the next round, and you will get to vote for the next round! Instead of voting once and then having to wait for the results, you will be getting continuous updates throughout the event! Sounds cool, right?

More information regarding the awards can be found below:

The closing ceremony will be held on Thursday, December 25 (time to be announced). This will be the conclusion to the awards, where the overall winners will be announced. It will be livestreamed to twitch.tv and that will be the first place where the winners are announced.

Rules

The following is a list of rules that must be followed both my nominees as well as voters. Failure to follow these rules could result in a disqualification.
  1. All MCGamer rules apply.
  2. Do not submit troll voting forms - these submissions will be overlooked and the user who submits them may be subject to punishment.
  3. Votes for users with large followings in the restricted categories will be overlooked.
  4. Promoting oneself in any way, shape or form, will result in either a warning from the MCG Awards team, or an immediate disqualification (Giving someone a link to vote and saying 'vote for me/my build team', or any other form of self promotion, this extends to just saying 'vote for me'). This is up to the MCG Awards staff team's discretion. If you are issued a warning, you will be asked to remove any form of self promotion from whichever social media platform you have used. Failure to comply within 24 hours may result in a disqualification. In instances where a nominee with a large following is self promoting, an immediate disqualification may be issued, again this is entirely up to the staff team's discretion..
  5. Bribery in order find out results early (including staff) is a serious offence and could result in serious consequences.
  6. If you are caught cheating in any way, you will be disqualified from this MCGamer awards.
  7. Don’t let competitiveness get in your way. People who are being overly competitive, specifically in ways which include slandering other nominees, have the potential to be disqualified. Anybody disqualified from the 5th MCGamer Awards will also be disqualified from the 6th MCGamer Awards.
  8. Most importantly, have fun! Don’t be upset if you aren’t chosen or get eliminated - this event is purely for fun and should not be taken seriously. Keep in mind that flame WILL be removed. Be a good sport!
  9. Any attempts of slander, abuse, performing mass demonstrations towards MCGamer, its staff or its owner (Chadthedj) will result in a disqualification in attempt to remove any users who pose as a bad influence towards the community which would serve as a liability rather than an asset towards our community. We don't want to promote users who are attempting to slander/abuse the staff.

*These rules are subject to change and rules may be added during the course of this event if we see the need to clarify.
**The MCGA Team reserves the right to final decision.
***Any disputes will decided by the awards team. Hierarchy of decisions will be made in the following order: The MCGamer Awards Team, KitMencha, the MCGamer Administration and finally Chadthedj.

A big thanks goes out to KRaidium and KyleD for their work on previous editions of the awards!
Good luck everyone, and happy voting… expect the unexpected!
