Problem: Deleting evidence even accidentally will result in a permaban (1st offense) for a user who was trying to help the community. For hackers it is a 7 day ban (1st offense) for someone who was doing harm to the community. Recently, some important players including Cscoop and Twee were perma banned for accidentally deleting evidence, and not being aware of the rule.

Solution: A lot of this has controversy has come from people disputing months after there ban was given. I say it is a 7 day 1st offense and permaban 2nd offense for deleting evidence within a month of the report. After a month, they are no longer obligated to keep the video on Youtube. The banned user has had plenty of time to dispute, and they can no longer dispute their ban if the evidence was deleted. If the staff feel that they need the evidence longer, they can screen record the video, so they have it on record. It is unfair to hold someone who was trying to help the community accountable for a video months after. What if they delete their channel and forget about the video?

Petition: To make this change happen, the community needs your support. Reply to this thread with, "I, [insert name here] would like to sign the petition." Then I will add your name to the list. Note: You don't have to agree 100% with the solution to sign, if you are signing you are saying that you want a change to the rules. That change does not necessarily have to be my exact solution.

I wanted to come out there and say why deleting the evidence is a rule which I believe should stay in place.

1. If you delete the evidence, and the person that was banned disputes their ban, what evidence do we have to say that they were rightfully banned? None. That player is unbanned, then there is more hackers on this server, which is bad for everyone.

2. Going along with the above point, you could be deleting that evidence in order to help somebody out by getting them unbanned. If you were to destroy the evidence of a murder, would you just be let off the hook? No. You wouldn't.

Those are the reasons I think this should stay in place. I do know that there are pros + cons for everything, but in this situation I believe the pros of the punishment out-weigh the cons.

Here's the thing. Say someone hacks and is caught. They are given a one week warning-ban. Then the perm for second offence just in case they didn't know they broke a rule. Take someone else who deletes their channel because they wanted to start fresh and they forgot about the video still on it. The evidence is gone but it was an honest mistake and probably didn't hurt the server (in most cases) nearly as much as actually hacking did. OH GOD BETTER PERM BAN HIM.
Now please tell me, do you remain in your initial stance?

I agree, I also hate the unlisted rule because in my opinion they should be named and shamed. Fair enough if the evidence was denied but for accepted evidence I don't think making us unlist a video is necessary.
Does I agree mean you want to sign? I am guessing yes, just want to make sure.
