Oh, goodness Sean.
Using previous examples, even if someone admits to a hacking offense from a long time ago and is clearly regretful, the ban still must be served.
I'm sure that you've already beat yourself up about it in the past, so let's not do that.

Thinking about a few of my own deeper secrets, I can only imagine how difficult it must have been for you to post that.

He is willing to step up to the plate and accept the consequences with his head held high, knowing in his heart that he has created more happiness than pain in this cruel world of ours.

I must say I enjoyed that quote :) Makes me feel even better about my past and my new start to my MCSG career :)

Man, this puts us in an awkward situation.
On the one hand, our policy is quite clear about admitting to hacks. Rules are rules, and you know that too.
But on the other, I really don't want to ban you because of how you've confessed to it all. Doesn't seem fair to punish a man for coming clean.

Fair is fair, and rules are rules, though. Your ban will likely go into effect after your first one expires. If it's any comfort, at least it's not permanent.
It's the hard calls like this that make the Admin position the most difficult.
Um, isn't there also a rule that states that all bans are private, and staff can not publicly announce them?

I'm not 100% sure of this, but I believe the guideline is put in place to respect the user's privacy. In this case, Sean was willing enough to throw this out there and face the music. There is really no point in hiding it.

Edit: Also, if the ban had not been publicly announced, then some people could have assumed that the staff were going to be biased in favor of Sean and/or that they were going to 'turn a blind eye', which is not at all the case.

Yeah, I am well aware of that. But, usually the staff seem to follow that rule very strictly even when it's obvious. I guess what it comes down to is that he is an admin, so he can "bend" the rules when he feels appropriate. A mod would never do that, as if Sean complained for some reason they would be in trouble.

Thanks Sean for doing the right thing and confessing. This is an honorable thing to do. You made up for it being an amazing mod many times, and I thank you for that.

You are a very respectable person. Though you should have not said these kinds of things in the first place, I do respect that you confessed to all of this, and alerted the staff that you did it, as no normal user would have done that. =)

ok so an ex-hacker can get trial sr mod but I get denied mod for joking about hacks... nice!

on another note, this doesn't change my opinion of you sean. I'm sure there are plenty more similar cases that don't have the guts to come clean.

Oh, so can I have that Trial Sr. Mod rank? (jkjkjkjkjkjkjkjkjk) Well, we all probably got so frustrated about MCGamer with teams, and other hackers. So we (well, I) have only once thought about getting hacks. Well DONT get hacks, you hear me Leafy? We all make mistakes, and we all think about wrong things. But just practice and you'll do better. *confident smirk* well, I didn't NEED to practice, I was a nah-tur-al. <--- sassy
