Gaming mouse recommendations? SteelSeries?

It depends on how much you are willing to spend to a gaming mouse (naga is a bit more expensive than the Deathadder), also take into account if you would actually use all the functions the mouse has to offer (e.g. the additional side buttons on the Naga). I personally chose the Naga one because of the side buttons.

Thank you for all the feedback! With Razer mice the only issue I would have is ergonomics, I am used to ambidextrous grip and I claw/fingertip grip my mouse so I don't know how much getting used to it would take. The SteelSeries only really appeals to me as it is a very similar shape and size to the mouse I currently own, therefore I figured it would be the kind of mouse I can pick up and start playing straight away rather than taking a few weeks to get used to.

Well, the Razer Taipan is probably your best choice if you're looking for an ambidextrous mouse.

Yes I have looked at the Taipan and I like it a lot. Although, something about the mouse looks like it could be uncomfortable to hold. Reviews on it have talked about having nowhere to place your ring finger, having to awkwardly place it on a sharp edge.

When I buy mouses I normally focus on the scroll wheel I need it to bee not to fast and not to slow th clicking speed is also important as it determines how quick you can get combos, rod switch etc. I recommend getting a steel series sensai that gets the job done the scroll is good and the speed is good.

For $60 I believe I bought the Steelseries Rival. It's a fantastic mouse to be honest.

I also have the Razer Naga 2014.

It's comfortable and easy to use once you get used to it, and my hand doesn't get sore even after hours of gaming. If anything, it would be my left hand which is on my keyboard that gets sore first.
It's roughly $80. $80 that I don't regret spending.
The 12 buttons on the side are very easy to use, but I don't click them by accident. (I did once in a while the first few days, but I got used to it.)
I use the two buttons on the top to switch profiles between Minecraft, League of Legends, and what I call, "Standard," for default settings on the extra buttons, such as 1-12 instead of my customizations.
The scroll wheel is great. Not too tough to turn, and not super easy either. It does click every individual time it rotates a notch, but scrolling rapidly is not an issue.
Razer Synapse is the program that Razer provides in order to customize, create, and change macros, key mappings, sensitivity, and a whole lot of other things like the lighting on the mouse. It's very convenient and easy to use, and you can change between "profiles," or mouse settings, with a single button if you set it to do so, and if you don't then you can still do it very quickly from the application itself.
Concerning the size, my hand is probably medium-small, maybe a medium at best, and it fits me fine, maybe a bit large, but I've made it work easily.
It only took me a few days to adjust to the new mouse size, shape, and button layout.
If you're worried about getting used to learning the 12 buttons, fear not. It's a lot easier than it looks, but for 4-9 you might have to think for a split second before pressing it, until you get completely used to it, which is taking me some time. But nevertheless, I'm able to easily find any button on the whole mouse easily, and the side buttons especially are angled differently in order to distinguish themselves.

Everyone says that Razer Synapse is the best most user friendly driver for their devices. And from research I don't disagree, what do you use all the 12 buttons for?

Generally speaking, the Razer Naga is an MMO mouse, you only really need those 12 buttons if you're playing things like League of Legends. I use a Deathadder 2013, and it was a step-up from the wireless mouse that I had used for so long, but after a while you get used to different mice (my main issue at the time with the Deathadder was how big it was and the feel; now I'm totally fine with it).
You could use the other buttons of a Naga for Minecraft things, as Smooth said, to bind to things like chat messages (I'm mod on another server and I have all 5 of my macro keys on my keyboard bound to warnings).

Those 12 buttons could also be used for macros, but a majority of Minecraft servers (including MCGamer if I'm not mistaken) don't allow the use of macros.

Yes I know that a lot of people abuse the use of macro's, a lot of people these days use things like Scroll clicking and Autoclicking that are set up through Razer Synapse. But the chat macros would be very useful, I could have one for "Get rekt", just kidding.

You have a Sensei yourself? Can you answer a few questions about it? For example;

What type of Sensei is it? (Raw/Pro/MLG edition)
How long have you had it?
Have you run into any problems with it? (This can be anything; driver related, mechanical failures etc.)
What is the grip like? Does your hand get fatigued when using it in a short time period? Or is it comfortable?

If you want to get a 12-button mouse, IMO the Logitech G600 is a much, much, much better choice. There's a third button under the ring finger and the software serves me better than Synapse - All of this is my opinion. The Naga is a great mouse, but the G600 is better for me and it's cheaper too.

I would go with the Razer Deathadder, it still has the normall Dell-mouse feel, but it is a good working mouse with high DPI and 2 extra buttons that you can use. Some people may say that mice made by Razer are expencive or overrated, but I think that the higher price doesn't really matter if you look at the quality.
