Do we really need 1.8?

*Sigh*

Although I may not 100% love 1.8, I know that we're going to have to update eventually regardless... If someone says that they're going to switch over to another server that has 1.7 support, then they can expect that to backfire because that server will update, too. You'll all adapt to 1.8, it's not the end of the world.

This might sound somewhat farcical, but the thing I hate most about 1.8 is the way the rod looks in your hand. They've made it so it looks thicker, and I just hate it.

I guess I notice it because I hold the rod more than any other item, and spend a lot of time making resource packs and thus rod textures.

Thats because the texturepacks allow for 3D item textures in 1.8

I heard that there is a way, that in 1.8 you can make minecraft a more GPU intensive game. Is that true?

Including the problems everyone else talked about above, here are some problems I have:

1. Weird chunk loading
2.Weird players loading (flashes and stuff)
3. Render distance is glitching the sky
4. Render too sensitive
5. Some buttons are white in the settings
