Did you ever think it would turn out like this?

When I started MCSG, a couple of friends and I were playing v1 and we were terrible, but it was okay because the game was just so much fun. Today, I play like I mean it. I care about ratio, stats, etc. It's nothing like it used to be, and if you told me I would turn out like this at the time, I would have thought you were crazy.

Not really at first, but within my first week of MCSG I had already made quite a few friends. I was shocked at myself and to be honest I thought I was really pathetic to be talking to people online rather than IRL, but now I actually don't mind. Most everyone I met here on MCSG has become a better friend than anyone I've met in real life, and even though I got in trouble for having online friends by my parents, and even though I still sometimes get made fun of, I'm glad of the outcome, and that it could happen c:

Actually when I first heard of this game several years ago from my friends, I thought it was retarded and stupid. Now have to be pried off of my seat to stop playing, oh the irony

I actually bought Minecraft just to play on MCSG, so I had some high expectations for it. I definitely didn't expect to have such a great time throughout the years though. For me, just watching the server expand year by year has been amazing, and meeting all of people who I have, while experiencing all that I have through this one server. I can say that I'm happy with how everything turned out. Wouldn't trade my experience for much.

First joined with my American friends, I just played it as a joke to have fun and muck around, we didn't really go on the TS or get in with the community. They eventually quit and I stayed and now I've become quiet close friends with a lot of the community and staff. Honestly didn't see it turning out like this

I don't play MCSG singularly, I play much more minecraft. I'm an avid player of SMP, RP, and other community servers. I also play lots of single-player. MCSG is the same as those, just a form of entertainment, and while this might come out the wrong way, I can't say that I value my online friends as much as my real life friends.

This is one of the closest, most intricate places I've ever been at. Everyone knows each other and it's all tightly knit (not as much as previously, but that's only because the community is much bigger now). I'm glad I got to be a part of MCSG (and a contributor to some big ideas/major improvements here)

It all started september 2012. My friends and I had our own server and we tested various plugins, we came across this plugin called "survivalgames" and decided to try it out. I found the idea of the gametype really fun and decided to search for servers that focus on SG. I found MCSG and i asked one of the most loyal players on the server we had to join me for a few games (roling_stone) We were total noobs but we had a lot of fun

In early october i bought iron donor for both of us and we spent more and more time on MCSG. I started to get better and after 2 months of playing i had about 200 wins (the #1 player ifrox had 709 wins back then). That was when i realized that reaching #1 was a possibility. I played non-stop during the winterbreak 2012/2013 and managed to grind around 500 wins. I became #1 early january 2013.

I never intended to get anywhere in MCSG at all xD Grinding wins for an entire winterbreak maybe sounds extreme but i truly enjoyed grinding wins back then

TL;DR: I did not expect to get anywhere in MCSG when i first started
