I think this would be great..ik I don't have a lot of wins but I have 1k wins on hive and I understand why people are mad but it's true a lot of people are moving to mcsg and I think it's fair to give us a chance on getting high on leaderboards

PRESTIGE
Maybe a prestige system could be implemented. Every 100 wins or something you would move up a prestige rank so you would be competing against a fewer amount of people that have similar skill level to you for the top rank in the prestige level you are on. If this could be implemented into a matchmaking system as well that would be INSANE!! Instead of versing really skilled or not so skilled players you verse people just above or just below your skill level in a match. Just a suggestion and I realize it would be incredibly hard to implement but if it happened it would be Awesome.
CLAN LEADER BOARDS
Some people may be against it but if regional clan leader boards came out that were run by the MCGamer network I think that would bring a whole lot of competitive action to the game. With the new spectator mode said to be released as well as dedicated servers for clan battles to take place, if these games were live streamed or recorded I believe this would attract a large audience. If we gave people the ability to choose their favorite clan and maybe even there favorite players to support and cheer on I personally believe that would be great.
REGIONAL LEADER BOARDS
Like there is in the AU hub with all the heads on the wall representing the regions top players, if this could be brought out in all regions not only with the heads in the hub but on the leader boards i reckon that would be pretty cool. If people were split into the region that they predominantly play on to see the top players that are in your region and how you rank against them this would make for some pretty fierce competition. At the moment you have to rank yourself against people you cannot really properly verse as there is a connection advantage to someone in say US if they are versing someone that lives in AU or EU.

Merely suggestions but I think these ideas would be awesome!
This is a good idea, hopefully it gets taken into consideration. :)

Even though my opinion will most likely be disregarded, I'm more than happy to say I support this. Even though I have way more to lose than most others, (I'm a player with over 4000 wins and no forum account anymore, guess who?! =D) I actually think it would be good. After taking a break from MCSG (Whether I start playing or not again really depends, the game is just full of toxicity. It rivals the League of Legends community in terms of being toxic, that's not a very good thing.) I've seriously been able to look at how stupid I was to put myself through this game for.. Literally no reward but recognition.

Resetting the leaderboard will effect players with lots of wins fairly negatively, but then again it will give newer players a chance to claim a spot on the leaderboards. Although I was incredibly lowly ranked and I made my way up to either #1 or #2 (hehe it's a guessing game now, who am I? ;) ). It really shows who actually cares enough to put so much time and effort into this game, hell if you want to then I commend you for it. I seriously do, I have no idea how summer 2013 me could get 30 wins a day. Many of the top players have realised how stupid it is to torture yourself to get wins for no reason. The majority have quit.

Resetting the leaderboards is a great idea. To all the players that are going to tryhard the new, or current leaderboards depending on the situation. I really recommend against it. Removing time from your social life just to play this game is stupid, the only way I can ever see being highly ranked on this game beneficial is if you're a sociopath with no will to succeed in life to devote so much time to play this game. The minimum time played for top 25 players is 5 weeks. Just imagine using that time to actually do something worthwhile? You could literally be a straight A student, amazing at sports or just investing that time into a talent/trade to actually help you.

TL;DR: Reset leaderboards, give old players their recognition, don't tryhard the leaderboards and do something productive

I realise how hypocritical I must sound in this post, but trust me. This is coming from someone who learnt from their mistakes. =D

Which is why we staff members are here, to keep the community as clean and hacker/ rule breaker free as possible. :)

But, the administration do realize that people have worked hard to get to their respective ranks. To make them not 'pissed off', they are proposing the implementation of 'legacy leader boards' where the player base's statistics, prior to prospective reset of leader boards would be stored and kept permanently.
Not trying to be rude to any moderators, but ATM they are not really doing there job. A few weeks ago my friend got actually banned because he rekt a mod in a fair 1v1 and the moderator got extremely mad and banned him. So don't get me wrong, there are plenty of great mods, but I think it is time for MCSG to filter through all the corrupted ones.

I agree I see mods abusing powers all the time and sometimes I see them not doing there job so I do it like I say stop spamming and stuff it's gets annoying and they are mods for a reason so do something and don't ban people for no reason

  • A fresh restart would be fair and fun for everyone. It's fun to start a new game, and a global reset would be like starting a new game for everyone.
How is it fair? People worked ages for the stats...
Its not fun for everyone....
Yes it would be like starting a new game... Where everyone got bad stats because of hackers... If you reset the leaderboards most good players will leave and MCSG will just have "Not very skilled playes"...
This is in no way fair for the people who commited weeks on the server for their stats... Also if you do this... It will most likely be a byebye from me:)
And Gravey4rd will def quit... He is on the edge tbh... And if you do this he will def make his decission...

Let's keep the thread on topic. If you have problems with a staff member report it to a senior staff member. :)

Your friend always has the option to dispute his ban. If it was unfair after all, I don't see a reason why he should not be unbanned.
A lot of the time, moderators are doing their jobs, if we aren't it might be because we are handling another rule breaker, AFK because of real life commitments or simply attending to something else. After all, we are humans too. We have other things to tend to out side of Minecraft and the MCGamer Network in particular. Also, on a side note, I want to just say that the Moderator rank is 100% voluntary.

And here is a statistic us Moderators are allowed to share. - "1,495 total bans have been issued in the past 24 hours." (At the time of writing).

If you feel someone is breaking the rules and 'moderators are not replying' you can always report people yourself. - http://report.mcgamer.info/

If you feel a Moderator is breaking rules themselves, you can always approach a member of Sr. Staff on the MCGamer Teamspeak, IP: ts.mcgamer.net

Now, back on topic guys.
