No need to get angry, I am just asking on why there is an age limit. We need moderators experienced, I am not saying your not, but many people under age are not mature and act like a kid. And please don't complain, moderator is always patient, and first step for you, is to wait until your the correct age. Okay? Good, this discussion should close now.
No, it works. They would be swamped in bad applications and finding good ones would take too long. Truly worthy applicants can get an age exception.
I can explain the reasoning for that, or at least my interpretation. Let's call your maturity level "1" when you spammed. Now you have grown to a "2". However, people with no prior bans had a "1.5" maturity level; they have grown at the same rate you have, so now they are at a "2.5". While you may have gotten better, those who already were better maturity wise are even better.
In my opinion , a 9 year old could be easily led to banning people randomly cause other people told him stuff or did something to him and they "cyber bullied" him ( I just want to use this "term" , because if it was to explain , it would be real long. In my opinion , cyber bullying is kids chatting on the internet and the way to end it is to close the computer). It is just more reasonable and safe to give mod to a 15 year old.

The age limit is there to keep our community a safe place. Its like any age-restricting law in the real world (some examples being you have to be 16-17 years old to drive, you having to be at least 21 to drink alcohol in the US, ect.), which are in place to keep the world generally safe from accidents caused by younger people.
The commands that Moderators are given can be dangerous when used incorrectly and can be used to purposely harm others, just like a car can be used to cause accidents and potentially hurt others if used incorrectly. Because of this, we must go with the averages on how mature one is at any certain age to prevent potential problems that have been encountered in the past.
Now there are always exceptions, as people can be more mature at a younger age and may be able to become staff here at MCGamer (One example is me, as I revived my promotion before I turned 15), which is where the age exception process comes into play.
TL;DR:
Even though you may be mature at a young age, would you trust any other kid your age driving a car?
Anyway exception age should be abolished, required age should not.
I agree sooooortof, say your 9-11 years old and wanting to be mod, the 9-11 year old applies, writes a very good app then submits. They do not meet the age but pass the interview and app is accepted. Would you want a young 9-11 on your staff team or no?
And there are TONS of other downsides. But thanks for the post Lululioness !H0nestly, you have to understand that rules are rules.
If you really want to help out the community, you can and you don't need that red rank that makes people feel like you are authority. You can help new members find there way around, you can ask people to stop spamming (but don't impersonate a moderator!), report them in report abuse and perhaps not make another one of these threads and use the search bar to find your answers.
Being a moderator isn't always about how mature you are. It is about being able to uphold the rules, help people out, attend moderator meetings, better the community and be able to drop anything you're doing to help MCGamer players out. And do you know what the downsides of being moderator are?
It's not just banning and kicking people for rule breaking and sitting on TS and the in the Hub.
- You have to be nice and helpful to everyone, even hackers, rude people or people you don't like.
- You have to drop what you're doing to help players out, even if you're about to win a game of MCSG.
- You have to keep level-headed and your temper has to stay calm, and you rage a lot probably when you're moods are triggered off, which are ALL THE SAME with children. They are mature most of the time, but things can set them off very easily.
- You have to spend a significant amount of time on MCGamer to help out properly.
