I can't play 1.7, and I'm not complaining. I feel like I fall under that "require it" umbrella, but I don't think it's a huge problem and it will be resolved soon.

Now that 1.7 is out theres no need for better sprint anyway. This is kinda pointless, just make the servers for 1.7.2 and you won't need to ban people and at the same time eliminate the risk of banning innocent people.

Some people need optifine to play MC and they want bsm to even the playing fields thats why there is an whole debate about it. Read the thread Voei and Rexxy explains in detail.
