Do you think this is a major problem in our community?

I agree with this completely, like all people should. I nearly cringe to death when I read some of the comments on here and in game. I see threads such as, "Who is sexier/hotter, ***** or ********" it's just not needed and in my opinion it's quite sad to see things like this. When I arrived to this community not long ago, I congratulated McGamer on what great members it had but now it is being spoilt by a minority of inappropriate people.

Like some people have already mentioned, some girls do actually enjoy this kind of attention, for various reasons to their benefit, security, etc., however that doesn't mean they all do, and that it's ok to do what I see happening on occasion.

Telling a girl they're pretty is a compliment-- it's nice, and girls will accept it. 'Stalking' or bothering the same girl, and saying things like Theo's examples on the front page, however, is another story entirely.

There is such a find line between these two, and apparently, some people don't see it. Calling someone pretty is nice. Basically every girl will happily read that message, and carry on with their lives.
Constantly bothering them, and making unwanted advances, or comments, is basically harassment, and in most cases, completely unwanted.

Put yourself in their shoes. Would you comfortable with someone telling you "are you a little Caesars pizza because you're hot and I'm ready"? Probably not, so don't say it to someone else :p

it seems like nowadays boys joke with each other being gay and whatnot. i might receive hate for this, but i always figured girls on the internet were smart enough and tolerant enough to just ignore what gender issues there were and be more mature than those being ignorant towards them. clearly, some people do just that, but are still offended.

In my personal opinion I think there should be a zero tolerance policy on this issue; any suggestive posts deleted immediately and if the behavior continues or has been continued by the person, a possible forum ban.

True but when I tried doing a similar thing with pointing out problems I saw in the staff I was temp banned for a time. I tried to change things but I ended getting thrown under the bus.

I understand your point and I'm not accepting sexism. But let me ask you, is there anyway you can think to stop it besides temp banning people? That's all I can think of and if thats excepting sexism then so be it.
As for the Staff issue, I apologize, but this is different. This isn't targeted at anyone so I doubt you would be punished for it.

They're other ways to deal with it other then temp-banning. When we see it, we remove it from the forums. If a person is found doing it regularly, then we temp-ban (Or if it's horrific enough).

Honestly it goes both ways. Although they are "Harassed" (I've heard plenty worse in TS not based on gender), many use it to their advantage to team, become popular, get likes, a moderating spot, etc. Again, honestly, some girls actually like the "Harassment" that was shown in the screenshots (It gives them security). With that being said, I doubt that the gender barrier could really be broken in this community with the majority of people that are male teens, because the 2 sexes, male and female, are biologically different, and people will always be attracted/use those biological (And anatomical ;) differences). You could try to moderate the gender abuse but you also have to look at the advantages they get. (e.g. the show yourself thread, an average-not-well-known boy posts and gets 1-5 likes, a girl posts, gets 5-10).

Edit: I've always disagreed against complete gender equality, not because I'm a male and I'm the "dominant" sex, but for the reason that woman and man are very different beings. In a world where women couldn't vote until about a century ago, it will take a while for them to get the same wages, same occupations, etc. We cannot automatically and easily change a prejudiced that was around since the dawn of first mankind. Exceptionally put. I'm actually really stunned on how well that was said. You make very good points, however, I still find some of them 'iffy'.

Maybe the girls do like the harassment in the way you mentioned but it's still harassment and we still have to stop it. We can't let a couple boys get away with it and then have the community feel comfortable doing it because these said boys got away.

As for your doubts the gender barrier can be broken... Well, why can't we break it? I mean, doubting is a way of letting it win. We have to believe we can change it.

Now the thing I really don't understand it why girls and boys can't be equal. You say:
I've always disagreed against complete gender equality, not because I'm a male and I'm the "dominant" sex, but for the reason that woman and man are very different beings.
Yes, they are different beings with these differences, but why can't they still be equal?

Females mature faster than males, which is also part of the reason why girls like older guys. Boys in minecraft be craycray.

I am Huahwi, and I approve this message.
lies. lies. LIES!
Sadly true :( I've gotten rejected numerous times simply because she was 1-2 months older than me. I get it, you want someone as mature as you.

If harassing girls on the internet amuses you, then man... you're going to have a really hard time finding good friends as you grow older. Just imagine your mom working long hours and coming home crying because she's always getting harassed by her boss. Yeah man, I took it there. Bad humor is bad. Everyone can do better than that.

Trust me. I'm Huahwi.

And also, I agree that posting your irl picture on the MCSG forums or any gaming forums is a no-no. You're just asking for wanted and/or unwanted attention. When I posted my picture on a gaming forum, girls be all over me(in my dreams). Anyway, if you're sexy & you know it and not afraid to show it, just remember to be prepared for some unwanted attention.

Well said, but I still believe girls should have the option to use a picture of themselves. They should just understand the possible harassment that may come out of it.
