Well me and 7,500 people are paying +500 to go to Minecon... xD

Also, some people wanted to go, and were willing to go, but had issues with schedules, couldn't buy a ticket, etc.
An MCSG convention would be smaller, and would probably have more hardcore gamers.

(Anyone feel like answering the questions I wrote? :3)

If it was close to me, I would DEFIANTLY go! But if it was over 4 hours, I doubt I could convince my parents :/

Personally, if a "MCSGcon" was staged somewhere in the middle of the US, Chad and a couple of Admin's and Dev's were there, and a few hundred players were set to go, heck yea I'd be in!
But I wouldn't bother staging in in Florida because this would most likely be an event for most of the people who couldn't make it to Minecon 2013, myself included.
I live in Michigan. I missed out on Minecon 2013 because it would have cost $2000 to go, thus I assume that you would get less people attending in Florida than if you staged it toward the center of the country.
I would probably stage it in Tennessee because that is right in the middle of a large Minecrafter group.
(Also there is a good sized convention center in the middle of Gatlinburg that should do the trick;))
I think it should be in 1 of the more popular states, because many people would have to convince there parents to take them and not many families would like to go to a smaller state. Also if anyone wanted to come from a different country i'm sure they would rather tour a place such as New York, California, Florida. Lastly, i'm assuming we would have more players throughout these states because of the larger population (I'm not sure just a guess.). (Not trying to offend anyone who doesn't live in any of these states.)

I'd LOVE to come to something like this, but I'd never be able to come if it wasn't in my state or the next one over.

its not going to be were I live :/
We don't know where it will be, if it does happen.

But for future reference, let's make it easier on everyone and just assume that it's going to be in either California, New York, or Florida. Of course, y'all can still say where you think would be a good place to have it

I think this sounds awesome, but is just a little unrealistic. As big as the mcsg community is, I don't think this would draw enough people to make it viable. Besides, what would you do for two or three days at a mcsg convention? I get that you could meet staff and maybe even Chad, but other than that what is there to do; play mcsg? As much as this sounds cool, I don't think it is really realistic. I think something that makes a LOT more sense is having a big booth at minecon or pax prime. There you could still meet people from mcsg, but once you're done with that you still have practically a million other things you can do. A mcsg convention would be really cool, but I honestly don't see it happening anytime soon.

I think its a great idea, although the majority of MCSG players are quite young so traveling for them would most likely be out of the question. Maybe we could just have our own little get together at Minecon each year
