Well, I saw it as a joke because Arena does that to everyone else...

Given the internet things such as sarcasm and jokes are hard to convey, and based off of HalfSquirrel 's post it seems as Arena didn't interpret it as a joke.

Why are you treating the "horrible" statement you made a whole thread about as a joke? And given the internet, how can one interpret that as a joke?

My first post I made on his goodbye thread was "bai" then I looked at other goodbye threads after to only see how he made that comment in all of them. So I said it on his thread a kick.

It is, I'll admit, yet as we discussed earlier in this thread EvermoreHD, Arena had a point to say "Nobody Cares" (I hate that he did it though) with the analogy I made. However, it's also hypocritical on fatmannumbah8 's part.

I'm guessing that post was meant for Arena, and no one else. Arena knows that he has posted it on other people's goodbye threads, so he should see that it is a dig towards him. If he doesn't, and gets offended, then it shows that he is a hypocrite.

But as I said, he had a point to discourage those to not make those threads if per say they were the "middle class businessman."

But this is my opinion and this will sound really bad but... Famous people should really be the only ones to have a leaving thread. A lot of people know this famous person so therefore many people would come out and say their piece: The goodbyes, The thank you's, The god I hated you's. The thread would become very popular and maybe even the leaving person would feel slightly better about their passing.

Now for non famous people. They most likely do not have many forum friends or followers, so it would be pointless for a thread and would just create more thread spam and people shouting nobody cares. Only maybe 1 or 2 messages would actually be from friends. This is where the status' come in. They make one, say they're leaving then the friends know without any hassle and disrespectfullness.

I may sound harsh but really.... no one actually cares about these people except a few, whereas with famous people many people care about them.

If you put it that way, I think no one should be making threads like that because it just causes spam. You can't really judge whether someone is popular or not, because everyone has friends and there are still the nice people out there that will at least pretend to care. It's better than telling people that they don't care rather than keeping it to themselves.

Honestly, I think you should just keep your opinion to yourself. Just wish the person good luck in the future, and be on with your day. It may make the person feel better and it makes you not a mean person.

In my defence I wrote it in quotation marks, so that should of been a signal as a joke. So he should of known right it was a joke, not an insult and it was obvious that people cared, look T the thread.
