I made a bye thread a few months back, and I got told to ' just tell your friends or make a status'.
My reply to that was ' Ok, I'll just message all 109 of them.'

I made a goodbye thread because people actually knew me. They saw me in-game and on the forums alot. However, if the player making the thread is ' new ' and not active, it isn't seen as that important. That's stupid.

Everyone deserves the right for free speech, but let's keep it clean shall we?

Agreed. Same thing happened to me on a well-known person's goodbye thread. Basically, I said that "No one cares", as a joke to the leaving person, and was told "Why would you even post that".

I always see the same 5 people on those kinds of threads whining that they exist and telling the person no one cares. It's absolutely awful, and those kinds of posts are harassment. Which is against the rules.

If I leave it would be nice to have sincere goodbyes instead of "nobody cares" because then to Moderators its not every nice to see that all your hard work that you put in to help people and the community is just being told nobody cares. This goes the same with normal players they have fun in a nice community to only really be told: "your leaving? well good bye noob." This isn't cool and some people leave because they have to. Others because they have become tired of minecraft others because they have a future to do things in. I Personally would if i got all none cares messages I would be disappointed but the one Sincere good bye even if by someone i don't know that would brighten my day. That is why if i see a good bye thread even if its some one i don't know i give them a nice good bye.
