I don't think you could call those people stupid, there are a bunch of people out there who take god's word as law and live by the Bible. Doesn't make em stupid tho
it actually does make them quite stupid if the only argument they can use to justify their hate on gay people is "but the bible says so, so obviously being gay is a sin and they should burn in hell", like damnit, are you honestly going to let 2000 year old book tell you what you should accept and what should you not, seriously. (sry if anyone got offended, had to say it)

i think it's a perfect way to justify things, a lot better than just plain opinions, and ik u were exaggerating but the bible says nothing about them burning in hell. :p

It is certainly NOT god's word.

The bible has been translated through several generations of people, the original authors of the new testament lived 40 years AFTER Jesus' death and are anonymous. There are hundreds of denominations and if you actually do research into the subject you can easily see how Sumerian gods transformed into the current god of the new testament.

I see a lot hypocrisy in people who believe in gay marriage here.

"Shut up! Let them be gay! It's their life, let them live it!"

How many of you would agree with this statement?
You're now all Hypocrites.

You saying that it's their life, let them live it, should go the same for the people against gay marriage. While i agree, gay marriage totally should've happened for some time now. It's not fair to just clamp down on homophobic.

Does this make sense to anyone else? If not reply and i'll elaborate more.

I've never read the Bible but one of the most amazing things about Christianity is that the Bible let's you read it and then act on how you interpret it. People read the same book but it means two completely different things to them.

Homophobics are people who don't like gays because its different from what they are and they think its not normal.
Why do you have to hate on someone that wont affect your life. You don't have anything to do with it. If you are not gay why should you hate on them? Whats the point?

If the answer to this is "yes" then it begs the Questions: Is sexism okay? and Is Racism Okay?

However, in terms of open and closedness of the Characteristic Homophobia, it is questionable even further, leading us to a paradox.

Why should people have to take in hate for being themselves?

Sorry, I'd rather use my brain to form my opinion than having a 2000 year old book written by desert people who had no knowledge whatsoever to decide how I think, the same book that caused so many unneeded deaths and caused people to burn others because they spoke against it, how sad and pathetic.

Also it's amazing how homosexuality is found in over 400 species, yet homophobia is found in only one, us humans, the same species who killed it's own people, just because they weren't the "same" as them, how sad is that...

It just saddens me sometimes that we're in the 21st century, we're made so much progress and discovered so many things thanks to science, improved our life, yet still let this book define the way we think, and not let our self define who we are.

I'm not homophobic, in fact I support people to live their lives how they wish and who am I to either tell them how they can live or to judge them. On the flip side, coming from a straight person I'd be rather disgusted if I had to kiss a guy however. This doesn't mean I'm homophobic, it just means I'm not homosexual.

I find it strange that one of the most important messages learned from the Bible is so often looked over. The message that all God's children are created equal slips by so much in debates like this that it is honestly quite silly. I've brought this up in arguments where people bring the Bible into it and it always gets shut down and scoffed at.

To me, homophobia isn't bad and I share the same opinion for homosexuality. If you are homophobic and you are going to try to force homosexuals to be straight or attempt to suppress or deny their rights, you are crossing the line. However, the same thing goes for homosexuality: if you are going to force homophobes to watch or engage in homosexual activity, you are crossing that same line.

Without a doubt, the world will be split about this for some time. It takes generations for change to happen but I think for now it's best to start accepting everyone and learning to live with them, regardless if you like them or agree with them.

Homophobic means to have an irrational fear of gay people* society has twisted the meaning of that word.
