Why doesn't staff listen to the members?!?!?

but the staff over here likes to do there own ting and not listen to the members of the server!
Actually, I almost prefer talking with community members rather than staff members (nothing against the staff). I generally can talk with people in a calm and appropriate way on TeamSpeak and get their input on things easily. I do enjoy talking to staff members when there are 3-4 of them, but when you have 5+ staff members is hard to get a word in.
you don't want to improve jack squat!
We don't now? I thought that was the purpose of applying for moderator... Additionally, we ban hacker after hacker after hacker. We have EU, US/CA, and AU cleansweeps during different times to eliminate hackers. The devs are constantly finding ways to improve the network by improving gamemodes, anti-cheat, etc. Really, your logic is not supported by any substantial evidence. Someday you'll learn, and hopefully it's soon, that getting people to listen and to understand you takes calm, collective, and persuasive words, NOT "you guys don't do ****."
there are so many hackers! it seems like you don't even ban them!
Yeah, read above.

As of recent, I have found that the ratio of hackers to players on CA appears to be higher than that on other networks. I have and will be continuing to go on CA for a portion of my day, and I'll see if I can get some other mods as well. :)

"yeah man fix the community bro, staff does nothing"

Sorry, not specific enough. Point out where we've gone wrong- point out how we can fix it. You can't, can you- at least, without diffculty? It's harder than it sounds. Ideas may appear to be effective on the surface, but that's just the surface. There's a whole other side to how things would work- we only see this side when we put them into practice. Let's take IP bans into consideration- well, it appears to be a brilliant idea- people hack, they get banned, and can't do it again from their IP. Sounds good, right? Well, what if the hacker's IP is also used by their brother, who plays legitimately? How is that going to be overcome?

You see, that's the problem. Brilliant idea? Then what? Problem? Then what?

I understand where you're coming from. We haven't been perfect- we aren't today and never will be- but it's gotten better in recent times, you've gotta say. I know the community thinks that 1.8 was a big backstab to the community- but look at the other side of things- new possibilities. The truly dedicated players which our changes appeal to are able to adapt to this change- the rest is forced to decide whether they'll stick around or not.

If you're one of the defiant ones, and you think I'm just saying this to defend the staff team's pride, then I challenge you- go and become a staff member. Join our ranks. Go and suggest the changes you think we want to see. Go do something about it. Go and change all that is bad in this network. If that's not your cup of tea, go suggest your changes in the conveniently named Feature Suggestions (but, please, in a constructive manner). We're not able to do this alone- the community complements us to make up this whole network.

You can point to single instances where the staff have listened to the wants of the community all you want, but the fact of the matter is that if MCGamer staff truly valued its players' opinions then the server would still be running 1.7. Case closed.

We are doing our best to remove hackers from the servers. At the moment there is a cleansweep up and running (not right now but you understand). Furthermore, instead of screaming "Hacker" and just leaving the game, if you were to stay and record them it helps us a ton. There are more games than there are mods in total, plus timezones Unless you think mods are robots and cannot sleep (I wish!) we cannot be everywhere at once :). In regard to suggestions, people have been asking about UHC for a long time I believe, that was recently put into beta, furthermore, people wanted percentage voting back, so percentage voting was brought back :p. We do listen.

Ahaha, what I see in this thread, is literally new players backing staff up and the staff itself acting ignorant once again. The person who wrote this thread has been playing the MCGamer survival games, when you still had to go to the website to take the server's IP and direct connect to it. I don't really blame you ( MCGamer Staff ) as 50-60 % of the community is happy with what you do, but you also gotta look at the stats. Back in the day the MCGamer had 6k-7k active players even in the morning, and now? You see 2 to 3 k players... and you might say '' minecraft has lost its interest ''; no it hasn't, people are leaving and you gotta face the reality. While some staff say that there is hackers in every minecraft server... this is half true; Because in MCGamer the hackers you see are blatantly hacking, with those obvious kill auras and not even trying to hide it, and on a normal basis, you see 3 to 4 of them in a game, every game. What I conclude is that staff doesn't do anything about it. You could implement an anti-cheat like the Badlion Network has, that auto bans every blatantly hacking player as it detects the cheat in their minecraft, and then maybe in the future implement some anti-cheat for macros, for example. Why not try and work on that, or maybe even buy one anti-cheat instead of buying new hosts, updating the server to 1.8 and posting threads on the forums congratulating other Sr. Staff for their birthdays?

Firstly, we DO have an anti cheat. Secondly, Updating the server to 1.8 actually helped remove a large bulk of hackers (numerous reasons), and thirdly, Moderating and senior staff are allowed to interact with the community, and each other.

Cool! And your anti-cheat autobans hackers? No, it doesn't. Stop making up excuses and please face the reality for once.
