Im not sure if this is only me however if you become moderator on a server you become addicted to it. Dictate most of your time to it. I wouldn't plan to quit If I had a purpose in the community. However im saying for my offence I didn't exactly break a very bad rule. I admitted to hacks. I wasn't abusing someone or hacking. I was just having a friendly joke. I personally believe in my case that having to wait 12 months doesn't really help at all. However for other cases e.g. hacking, being abusive, staff disrespect, being racist then this is where the 12 months come in. So the punishment will truly dawn on you. You will have to learn from your mistakes.
I see it a little more from your point of view now, yes. Understandably I can see why you think there should be a differentiation in wait time for the separate offenses, and this could be a step in the right direction if we can do it correctly, which hopefully we can. I'll see what I can do in terms of suggesting this to the higher staff ^-^

But I don't think there'd be much of a difference in wait times if this were implemented. We do understand that especially in your case, the majority of people banned for admitting to hacking are banned because they were joking around, however we take hacking very seriously here, due to the most recent hacker problem. I think the response you'll get from most Sr. Staff is that you should have been more aware of the rules and that you still broke one, etc. However I feel like a bit of forgiveness wouldn't hurt anyone c:

But he said in his case that he has done nothing wrong, so why should he wait it out for joking about hacking?
Because it's still a bannable offense on our network. He didn't do "nothing" wrong, he broke a rule. Albeit a less serious one, but still a rule.

Tons of people actually hack, they dont get this type of punishment.
Actually, they get perm-banned :p. That's quite the punishment if you ask me.

Different waiting times sounds like a great idea. I recently put this up in the community focus group meeting. However I was not able to make the event and Kyle couldn't either so there was no notes written about it. Like I said before, this was before I had known of the forums. I didn't know that it was against the rules. Forgiveness sounds like a good idea!

Edit: How will I know if the rules will change or if those goes into discussion at a Sr Staff meeting?
Edit 2: When is the next sr Staff meeting?

If the rules change, there will obviously be a rather large front page announcement :)

If it's brought up at a staff meeting is rather irrelevant unless it is actually added c:

I don't think so im 16 years old and still not mature enough for mod and my bans show proof of that. Your kind of lucky its 1 year I believe it used to be if you were banned you couldn't become mod.

Edit: If you think about it some people don't even become much more mature after 5 years...

Age doesn't necessarily determine maturity. I honestly prefer hanging around with adults ( I am 15) and much prefer my conversations with adults. Not to say I don't enjoy hanging out with kids my age. Its just a lot of them have a lot of growing up to do. I know a lot of people that are older than me and are less mature than me.

I've been searching through the forums but can't seem to find it. Is there a set date for the next sr staff meeting?

Seems like quiet a good idea. However with abuse a ban isn't a first term offence (Just from knowledge, correct me if I am wrong) I believe it has to be a 3rd or 4th offence to be banned. Also I believe this is the same ruling as swearing. You get about 3 or 4 previous punishments before being temporarily banned. Maybe having those 2 at 6 months but like Ceroria said before. Make them prove to Sr staff that they have changed there ways and are a valuable part of the community.

I decided abuse should be long because it shows immaturity by far. Shorten it if you wish, but abusive mods could destroy the server.

This would be brought up at the next moderator meeting, not the next Sr. Staff meeting. Funny enough, I'm not even sure if our meeting times are allowed to be shared with the public, although when we do have them it'll be rather obvious xD

Did you make this thread because you want mod or you care about people who should get mod but have been banned? If its the first one that is all ready showing immaturity.
