It really depends on how many ribbons we can make, to be honest. I'd like ribbons for #1, #2, #3, top 10, top 100, top 500, and top 1000.
Yes, we plan to have a final update whenever the Devs plan to. We should totally do an in-game countdown too!
I've already shut down a few complaint threads already, most of which were still believing that a stats reset was happening. There have been some threads critical about this no-loss decision as well, and I encourage those people to continue their discussion in the previous discussion thread here:

We are still working out the details of how the deranking process would work, as the details of what exactly are we considered hacks and how people will dispute it. Stories such as the ones quoted above show a need for a dispute process.
However, the basic idea behind the punishment is something that is quite definitive: players who have previously hacked (and thus gotten some ill-gotten wins) do not deserve to be ranked on the same level as players who have played legitimately. One factor we've found that turns people to hacking is the desire to win; they don't have the skills to play fairly, so they turn to hacking to boost their wins on the leaderboards. We hope to further discourage the use of hacks by hitting that type of hacker where they will feel it most: their leaderboard page. Our intention is to encourage fair competition with all players, and since using hacks will permanently misrepresent one's stats, hackers' stats should not be considered.
As stated, we are still working out the details of how the deranking process will work. Currently, it is only planned for hacking offenses, since hacking makes the greatest permanent impact on the leaderboards. I think it'd make a great deterrent against abuse, insults, and other such non-game related offenses, and I feel it'd be highly effective; just like in professional DOTA and LoL circles, the most competitive people are often the most toxic, so hitting them where it hurts would definitely make them think twice before verbally attacking someone. However, the punishment may not fit the crime, which is why we don't mute for hacking.
