Standards of PvP for Mods?

Moderation has absolutely nothing to do with PvP skill. It's funny, however. I'd consider myself to have pretty decent statistics and I get a lot of abuse in lobby along the lines of "lol wow ceroria ur so bad u just reset ur stats and boost wow u suck", or "ceroria did u reset ur stats?", or "ceroria stop tryharding and start banning hackers"

Like seriously. Stop. You're not funny. You're completely and wildly wrong because I've never reset my stats before and it gets on my nerves. ;-;

You don't know what it's like to only have 3 wins and be a mod tho.

Being honest, this really annoys me. Just because of your personal philosophy that Mods should have good statistics, you decide that this particular Moderator is no good at what they do, and they are 'giving Mod out to anyone now' because they only have a couple wins. I believe that being bad at PvP has very little to do with moderation, and that your opinion seems very close minded. There is so much more to being a moderator than being in game, playing sg and watching for hackers.

I do think mods should strive to improve and be good at the game, and I also think that if you're of a high skill level that your adeptness in detecting whether or not someone is hacking improves is true, but I do not think that it should affect whether or not someone gets mod. It will deter MCG from getting countless great mods who just so happen not to be that great.

I'd say PvP skill is a nice bonus that maybe should be taken into very minor account, but I don't think it should ever be anywhere near a deciding factor.

You in NO WAY need good statistics to do your job as a Moderator. Our job as Moderator, is to defend this server against hackers, spammers and trollers, and help people out. Whether it is IRL situations, or in-game. To make everyone's time at MCGamer a safe and enjoyable one. Where/how do you believe that we need to be good at PvP to do our job's correctly and efficiently? That's what I really don't get. People say I my ratio is TERRIBLE. A 1/6 isn't really bad considering that I never reset and I like to show my improvements as a player. If I reset I would have a 1/3 or 1/2. But that's besides my point. To those of you, who believe we need to be good or skilled at PvP to be a good Moderator? Really? Now that MCGamer is not just MCSG, we are not just all about PvP. Sure, PvP is a large factor of why we are so popular, but we also have many other gamemodes where PvP is completely irrelevant.

You don't need to be good at PvP, but the recent moderators are, because they do it for the rank, not like they are actually gonna do their jobs.

I'm quite offended by this comment. I'm a pretty new Moderator. I may be good at PvP or so people may say, but that does not mean I did this just for the rank whatsoever. MCGamer is what has kept me loving life and what has kept me going for quite some time. I devote hours and hours and hours to this server, and those are hours where I have had the best times of my life. I love this server, and if you believe I or any other Moderators are doing this for their ranks, you are completely wrong.

I believe I made my point.

I don't play EU, but what you said is pretty rude. At least cite evidence if you're trying to call people out. And even then, out of the hundreds of mods, what's the likelyhood you've met any more than a fraction of them?
