Hello all!
I've decided to make this thread to get the forum communities opinion on a topic which has recently bugged me quite a bit. Before the disguise command was reinstated, when I joined games many players would check my statistics and comment on them, mostly negatively. The first comment I received was:
"Lol creeper how did u get mod your stats suck"
I shrugged it off, as Mods are expected to receive criticism, however it did make me think. Then it happened once more, with another player leaving this comment in a pre-game lobby:
"creeper how'd you get mod lol?"
I replied saying I applied on the forums, and they replied this:
"I mean you only have 5 wins thats pretty bad"
I responded politely explaining you don't have to be great at PvP to become a Moderator. This got me thinking, is the in-game communities mindset that Mods require good statistics?
Then the day before /d returned, I was killed by a player in a game, and the said this afterwards:
"rekt mod u should be good haha"
Another one! That inspired me to eventually make a thread on the issue. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not here to complain nor criticise the general community, as I cannot judge an overall opinion from three in-game players, especially here on the forums. However, I am very interested to hear other Moderators experiences, if any, and what the forums community thinks about the situation in general. Do you personally expect Moderators to be good PvPers? I'm very interested to know, so please do comment.
Thank you all for reading, all comments and feedback welcome!
