Don't know how much of a tell that would be of a community's impending failure. After all, despite staff meeting topics, server announcements, various player-started threads, and one front-page PSA on the matter that all state otherwise, I still hear people here saying, "OMG, EULA will kill MCGamer!" People fear what they don't understand, and despite the facts that say otherwise they continue to say it.

As much as I know a lot of people wish a return to that small-community feeling of two years ago, the fact of the matter is that that's simply not possible given our community's current size. Simply put: we're nowhere near a small community anymore, we're one of the top 5 largest communities in the world. And as the times change and the community changes, we have to change with it, for worse and for better.

I will say that more players offers up both more hazards and more opportunities. On the one hand, an increase in population would mean we'd likely have to increase the number of servers we need and we'd likely see an increase in hackers in proportion to the population boost. On the other hand, we'd likely also see a boost in moderator applicants (and thus more mods) and Premium ranked players. It's a mixed bag that we should handle with care, but as Chad says in regards to having a massively popular community, "it's a good problem to have."
I really miss the old days. I like mostly a manual, private sg server with 10 friendly and awesome people (I'm not saying about MCSG when it first started as I didn't join so early, but you could say I joined early. I'm talking about other servers) rather than a server which is in the top 5 most biggest servers with every kind of players, hackers, rule-breakers, abusive players, friendly ones. But yea, as you said, we're nowhere near that.

I could see this happening.
My only issue is the fact that with more players comes more hackers...
On the bright side, as stated before, there will be more donors, staff applicants, and overall population in the community, making it even more successful in the long run.

30% are the helpful, kind, friendly players, A.K.A. most of the people that use forums (but there are some other really nice people that don't even use the forums)...
I don't mean to be rude, but have you ever taken part in any other online communities? If so I would assume that MCSG was your first and you were spoiled by it's magnificent community back in the day. Yes, the community is nothing like it use to be, but it is still a poop ton better than any other online community by far. The problem is so many of the old MCSG players were spoiled and their expectations were set to high when they used to be part of the community back in the day, but just go to any online community forums and try to find one then MCSG. People just need to accept that fact that things will change no matter what happens, some changes will be good and some will be poopy. MCSG is still beautiful, even though it's nothing like it use to be.

Yea, I have to admit that. And I have actually seen 2 or 3 communities that are pretty friendly, but not really Minecraft related.

Well... MCSG forums aren't that Minecraft related either.
It's the members and what we choose to discuss that turns it into something that isn't really Minecraft-related. However, if you take the amount of threads that ARE Minecraft-related and compare them to the threads that aren't, it suddenly doesn't seem like that many are unrelated....

*cough cough* clans and teams.
