424 days ago, I became a moderator.
165 days ago, I became a senior moderator.
11 days ago, I became an administrator.
And so, on this day, I have made the very difficult decision to resign from the MCGamer staff team. It is something which I have been deliberating for a very long time. Frankly, after you've made 4251 in-game actions and over 1100 applications/disputes, you get a bit tired, and there were certain factors which certainly weren't helping me out.
The reason for my resignation has nothing to do with the staff. The staff team here is perfect, contrary to popular belief. I love everything about it, and I love everybody here. Unfortunately, what has ruined MCGamer for me is how absolutely disgusting some members and groups in this community behave, both towards the staff, and towards each other. I have typed a paragraph up for this section multiple times, but I'm not going to include it. The last thing I want in my goodbye thread is flame and harassment, causing a headache for the poor souls who will have to moderate the thread and keep it clear.
I realize that people will also find it ridiculous that I have "thrown" away my chance to become an administrator, not even two weeks in and before it has really started. Fair enough, laugh away. I'm perfectly aware that I am the only person who has ever resigned during their trial period for a rank. The reasoning for this is that I don't believe that an administrator position in such a large community suits me. I like to work, help out, and do the job I'm supposed to do. I thought I liked being a leader, I always wanted to be a leader, until I realized the huge amount of responsibility that it pushes on top of you.
I have done many things as a staff member which I am very proud of. I never had an interview to become a mod. I hold the record for most bans. I was the first ever moderator of the meeting. I'm one of the youngest senior moderators ever. I got one of the quickest ever promotions to administrator. I'm the youngest administrator ever. It sucks that I'm not able to enjoy the last two for very long, but hey.. it's not just a trial for you to be judged on, it's also a trial for you to decide what you want.
I will still be here as a part of the community, and who knows what the future holds? I may end up diving into places I never previously experienced. Thank you to everybody who has aided in giving me a wonderful time as a staff member here, and good luck to every single one of you.
