I think that a leaderboards reset should take place. I only have 100 wins so my opinion could be somewhat biased, But I think it would bring back a competitive scene of mcsg with people fighting closely for the #1 Spot, this could be excactly what mcsg needs to bring back some tension and popularity within the community. As an Ex-Hive player I can understand that the communities are fighting over who has the most fun/competitive community, I think this could give MCSG an edge :)

Preface: I know this image has been floating around for quite a bit now...Don't complain if you have already seen it!

Sometimes I wish I can relive the days and weeks of these times ---

Every game I joined was exciting --- I wanted to put forth great effort to win. My heart would race if I was in danger.

However, if I die now (usually to initial targeting or insane teams I can't handle properly), I just leave.

While personally, I don't skip school to play MCSG, I understand what you mean about people like Gravey4rd, to be perfectly honest, he's the ONLY person ever in the history of MCSG to put this much time and effort into the game because he has so much time. Look at the other top players, Blamph, sixzo, Tomahawk even. They put equal amounts of time into the game (or at least that's what it looks like). But now we have Grave sitting on #1 saying if someone gets FOUR HUNDRED wins behind him, he'll tryhard to 4,000. Like, geez. I was watching an old Blamph video where he was playing on SG2 with Six and they were in a competition for #1. Sadly, there is no "I'm coming for your rank" anymore in the top 25. Because the margins between players on the leaderboards now a days are as follows:
Grave-darkrai: 437 wins... now that's a lot of time you have to play to get 400 wins, and unless Grave quits for a month and a half, Nick has no chance.

Darkrai-Gears: 98 wins

Gears-Logan: 98 wins

Logan-NotSoNoahSailer: 38 wins

NotSoNoahSailer-Brandon: 9 wins

Brandon-reven: 25 wins

reven-HugBabyBear: 8 wins

HugBabyBear-teki: 16 wins

teki-Huahwi: 36 wins

Huahwi-Edog: 67 wins

Edog-DevilicCrafter: 16 wins

DevilicCrafter-Joethepro: 100 wins

Joethepro-Gesuto: 130 wins

Gesuto-HotDoge: 89 wins

HotDoge-StigJam: 110 wins

StigJam-Spellcaster: 4 wins

Spellcaster-LiquidWater: 31 wins

LiquidWater-Araxed: 106 wins

Araxed-knowledgeguy: 86 wins

knowledgeguy-juzzyy: 36 wins

juzzyy-MLGMajestic: 75 wins

MLGMajestic-Smash: 69 wins

Smash-Robert: 11 wins

While those are some weird ranges of numbers... doesn't it go to show how hard it is to rise up the leaderboards now a days..?
Not going to name anyone but in AU there's like 10 people I can list off the top of my head who skip school to play MCSG. xD

In my complete opinion, reseting the whole leaderboards would make many many and I mean MANY players quit MCSG due to about 8 or 9 people on the leaderboards have over 3,000 wins and that doesn't take just a week. It took many of those players YEARS to do.

I miss the days when I cherished every single win I got. Those same days when no one judged you by your ratio, and you could just play, everyone was out there for the sole purpose of having some fun.

I do remember that in the v1 days, no one talked about ratio at all. 20 wins the point where people were considered good, and it was all about win count.

It's definitely an interesting idea. As much as some of us would love it, i highly doubt a leader board reset will happen since its been discussed many times before and has always been given a no. I do like the idea of monthly/weekly/yearly leaderboards alot though. Right now i think it is very VERY hard for someone to get their name out there and be recognized by the top tier clan community.
The sad thing is there are probably tons of people out there that are as good, if not better than many of the current top clan players, they just cant get their name out there because of how hard it is to get noticed. Most clans will just deny someone that applies if they dont seem appealing. However, I think if some random person that no one knew about was able to make it to the #1 spot of the weekly leaderboard, they would definitely be worth noting, and could possibly one day be known as one of the "top tier clan players".
Overall I think its just a much better way for people to get recognized. I like the idea.

People skip school to play a video game... now that's just sad... If it was for money like youtube or something then I'd understand. But skipping school to be on top of the leaderboards of some minecraft gametype? You're risking your edication and even your entire career over a block game. Now that's what I call a "gg".
