So today Minecraft snapshot 15w34a came out today...
https://mojang.com/

Let's skip the redstone for the thing people care about here: PvP. The attack strength bar has been added, and currently there's no way to disable it. What do you guys think? Will this ruin PvP? Will it make it better?

I'm praying Mojang adds a gamerule to disable it/ change the regen time, otherwise 1.9 is going down the drain. At least for me.

I think MCGamer will do whats best for the server whether thats upgrading or staying on 1.7-1.8, We won't know how 1.9 is until we get the actual version, not snapshots. I personally think 1.9 will make pvp a bit worse, but we'll see I guess ;D

I like it, personally. Try to think of the ways you can skillfully incorporate this into the game now, much better than walking forward (and maybe walking left or right) and spam clicking.

I'm going to take an upopular opinion here: I like the direction they are going, not necessarily the current state of pvp they are introducing.

Starting with shields (I know this isn't the topic currently at hand), I like them. They make the game more interesting, and in my opinion, a little less spammy. Perhaps they are a bit too large, as a smaller shield would let accurate arrows hit but reduce spamming at the body.

Secondly, with this "recharge" thing I somewhat like their idea. At the current moment the recharge is waaaaaaaaaaay to slow, but if it is sped up it will even the playing fields a bit. On the same note, this will stop macroers (Yes I know an updated anti-cheat would also help with that), but serve as a disadvantage to people who can simply click fast. I can't give a perfect fix, so I don't know the best solution.

Anyways, as a concluding note, they are essentially making pvp easier to learn but more difficult to master, and I do like that direction. However, I don't know too much about the various changes and my opinion isn't set in stone either.
