yeah it is possible but if you have 3 iron ingots i guess you will use them for an iron sword, and the chance of getting another 2 iron ingots is not that big i think..

Just gather 3 iron ingots to craft a bucket. May not be useful in combat, but it's up to you on the way you want to play the games.

It's really easy to get 5 iron ingots... And chances are by the time you will have bothered to get a bucket you will probably have an iron sword at least.

But then you could just cover the spawn in lava and nobody could put it out unless they had their own bucket
