Australian Servers not supporting 1.6.x

Hey!

It's GamerChappy here, with just a general inquiry as to why 1.6.x doesn't seem to work anymore. My computer severely struggles to hold 1.7 so I've stuck with 1.6. with OptiFine for the time being. I can connect to the US servers with 1.6.x just fine, but I lag like hell so I can't PvP like I'm used to.

I just want to know if it's just me, if the AU servers are blocking 1.6.x, or if it's being fixed atm, etc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Yes this error is happening when you try and log into MCSG with 1.6. I'm not sure if the developers even know about this issue but i'm sure it will be fixed soon

I think AU is just a pain atm, it should be fixed in the next coming weeks, or that 1.7 will release optifine so it shouldn't be to bad!

the Australian servers are run on potatoes so it lags any way but i do agree with 1.7.x and no optifine or any good fps boosting mods it is extremely difficult to connect to and play well on the au servers. fortunately i can connect to U.S servers fine but i do feel sorry for those who can't
