MCSG v2 is basically take v1, and make the items X2X2X2 OP. It isn't SURVIVAL games anymore, it's PvP games. With v1, there's an essence of survival, teams aren't the only challenge to overcome, food, armour, swords, materials and resources are scarce to make gameplay better
Plus NOSTALGIA FTW!

The only challenge I've had to overcome is the problem I felt v1 faced: in all of my games, 1 player has been able to get lucky and get full iron and a diamond sword, while everyone else has leather with sparse tier 2 pieces. Combined with less arrows and flint and steel, it just makes it irritating to fight. Food and other things have never been and issue for me, only armor differences.

And pure nostalgia is exactly the kind of reasons that bug me >.<

If you don't like the essence of SGClassic, there's much more with v2

SG Classic doesn't appeal to everyone, and that's fine. After all, if it did appeal to everyone, why wouldn't we just replace normal SG with it?
My point is, play what you'd rather play - "modern" MCSG or SG Classic. You're not being forced to play one or the other.

As a player who has never played v1, I absolutely love the new servers. For one, SG2 (my favourite map) gets played almost all the time, and also, it brings in an extra aspect to the game that switches the whole way of playing. In v2, pretty much every game is a routine of going on my route and being guaranteed all the food/weapons and armour I'll need for surviving. This way, it is never guaranteed what I will need to do further into the game. One game, I might not be so lucky and have to go out find food to at least have a chance, or I could get lucky and be totally overpowered and slaughter everyone. In my opinion, v2 has only one variable for gameplay (the fact that you do/don't get PvP equipment). In v1 however, there are 2 variables of gameplay (finding the PvP equipment AND food to stay alive).

Version 1 is more relatable to the Hunger Games then the current MCSG I think.

I only played about a month before v2 was released but it's what I played and what I got used to. I definitely liked it better.

Why would you not like it, or there would be 0 new servers, or there would be 28 v1 servers. I think everyone wants 28 v1 servers.
