I have been playing on the Survival for the last few days, and I loved it. Seeing forums and mods in game was really fun, and it has been a while since I have played survival. I loved mining, exploring and building. All that changed when I got raided.
I still enjoy mining and exploring, but most bases I find are raided or well protected against a guy with no faction like myself. I realise this is part of the game, but many people get raided, so I thought of an idea.
I am suggesting a MCSG survival server which is whitelisted, and contains players working together to make epic builds, get epic stuff, and generally have a good time. Kind of like the Mindcrack network. You would have to apply for a place on the server, and only players who have been here for a certain amount of time/have donated/have posted x number of posts of the forums. Each person could have a job on the server. If you think of jobs, post below, so we can make a list. As suggested by @HalfSquirrel , the jobs should be by district, each person should have a district and they would build for and work for that district. The districts and how they relate to Minecraft are listed below:
1. Luxury Items, diamonds, obsidian, gold, emeralds, villagers, horses
2. Cobblestone and lower weapons (non diamond), enchanting
3. Redstone contraptions
4. Fishing, building with/in water
5. Power? Perhaps potions, perhaps lava.
6. Minecart tracks/any forms of travel
7. Wood and axes
8. Custom Leather armour, carpets, wool, paintings, compasses and maps
9. Grain
10. Livestock
11. Farming
12. Coal/mining
13. Tribute to the Staff/people who have helped the server
Capitol. Destroyed after the 2nd reballion, the Capitol will be a city owned by none and run by all. Each district would help build it, and it would also be the spawn city
If you are in a certain district, then you should try and reeeeaaally push your district's products, in every conversation about the server.
For example:
If you were in district 4, and your friend was in district 3, a conversation could go like this:
FRIEND: Hey, what you doing?
YOU: You know, fishing
FRIEND: Cool. I could make a pool for you which can disappear at the flick of a switch, if you want
YOU: Yeah, but I like looking at my pond. Anyway, why are you in District 4, you got a job over here?
FRIEND: Yep, that guy Mlpoknzaba wants me to make him a secret entrance to his mediocre house. Wanna come?
YOU: I could make a pond which you could build an entrance in. I don't think Mlpoknzaba has a pond!
FRIEND: Fine, lets go.
