I think the way people with innapropriate names are banned is a bit unfair. They are just banned and banned until they are eventually perma banned. I think that the /nick command should be implemented again. And after the first ban for a bad name, tell a mod what you want your temp name to be and they can nick you. Does this seem fair?

Well, it does when you look at the cover of it, but when you delve deeper into /nick people could disguise themselves as mods, or famous you tubers, etc. Maybe if another way of nicknaming people was found, that would be a better option?

I don't think you understand, A MOD would change them, so if they asked for "JoeyGraceffa" or "Rape" or something bad, the mod would not do it, and would continue to be banned. Only MODS have access to it.

This belongs in feature suggestions (moved it :p).

As for this, /nick would be abused beyond belief, for things like faking to be staff, YouTubers, etc., it would get out of hand fast.

To make a long story short, if they made an inappropriate minecraft name, that's their fault, and honestly is no longer our problem further then banning them.

They are permanently banned as soon as they are discovered, so it's not multiple bans before a permanent one ;)

Tip of the day: Think before making an inappropriate minecraft name.

Once again, sigh. The MODS would be the only ones who could nickname, so if the person wanted something bad it could not be used if the mods thinks otherwise. It couldn't be abused in the slightest. I am questioning if either of you even read the thread.

Sorry, I misread the thread.

Even still, it would take a lot of effort on our sides to find everyone and completely rename them.

Before you think we're lazy (we aren't), is it really fair to have to go and completely rename someone who didn't think "Gee, I probably shouldn't put bad language in my username?".

Just my thoughts really, please don't get the wrong idea that we're lazy, it's simply a matter of "Why should we" to be completely honest here.

I wouldn't hate the idea, it'd be nice to let them have a chance, but again, when you make an inappropriate minecraft name, you need to consider the consequences that follow.

I agree with duckluv321 that it's their fault for creating the name and they have to face the consequences on this particular server. I think it makes us look better as a community not tolerating that sort of thing.

I agree with duck here. I'm sure there is that rare case though that the person made the account a long time ago, and they decided they don't like the name anymore but they are stuck with it. Of course, they could by a new account, but that costs more money and it seems like a bit of a waste to me. Anyways, I feel bad for some of them, but it really is their fault.

And that's why it should be added, say someone made a dirty account when they were 9, and they don't have the money to buy one now that they've matured.

I like that idea. But I think also think that this should be something really hard to obtain. Like interviewed or something along those lines if they really wanted it changed.

I can see a lot of people asking mods continuously to change their name because they do not like that one they picked when they first made their minecraft account. Like Duck said, if they made a name that is inappropriate then they must suffer the consequences.
