Hai guys, Zebra here and I was just thinking one day about Minecraft Survival Games and stuff and how MCSG has multiple different games within them. Then I started thinking about the (shiver) hive and noticed how they had a hub.

With this hub, it draws more attention to the other gametypes you guys at MCSG are paying your good money to host. I honestly don't think that some of the players here even know that we have anything else than the Survival Games. Now, I do know that just having servers on a list to join makes us unique (and awesome-er than others) in that particular way, but it draws attention away from the other gametypes that you staff members (mainly Chad and admins) have contemplated and spent money on ideas that turned into new, good, gametypes. For example: We have SG, Survival, Creative, Tekkit (FTB), ZedChase, and I'm actually probably missing one :D.

Now, most people only know about MCSG and maybe one other because of the forums. If we were to have a hub. You could spawn in that hubby little center and see ALL the awesome types we have. This would also improve the community because if we have players all playing more than one game, more people would be attracted back to MCSG because some people are getting bored of just the Survival Games and want to do something else, however they still love being interactive with the community and wish to play something else.

Also, some other people don't understand the concept of how to join our servers because they're used to just being on a server with a hub. So, we could have that hub and in that hub we could have warps, teleporters, gates, etc to each gametype, and wherein we would have all the signs that direct you to the servers we already have in existence. Some people just don't play MCSG because we don't have a hub, and they're truely missing out on the best SG servers there are out there. I believe that if our Devs have the capability to pull this off, it would improve our community AND you guys wouldn't be spending money on servers like ZedChase, Survival, Creative, etc that not many people know about.

I have the ZedChase servers added to my list, yet I never see them occupied. The only time I got to play them is when my friend got him and his clan to play then invited moi and a couple others to play with them.

We at MCSG certainly have the capability and drive to do this major improvement. We have Devs for the awezumm programming, we have many build teams like Team Elite who are particularly skilled with mapmaking, structures, etc. And last of all, we have a community that is very supportive from what I've seen. EDIT: I really do take your opinions to "heart" so make 'em good :D. If you don't like it, post a comment that explains why so I can take that into consideration for if I am to make other suggestions.

Yeah, that was my only setback is that it would be a lot like the hive. I think it would provide easier access to more people, however.

I couldn't agree more with the idea that mcsg needs to combine all the gametypes together but I really don't like the way the hive do it. The reason for this is that it is really hard to get into a game over there with the sign system they use especially if your not a donor. Its already hard for our played to get into a game becuase of how many people play on our servers so I think this wouldn't be good for us. Althou if we could find a better solution to this e.g having the server list we have now and a hub as well so players can chose which way they would like to connect or have a Que for the next game system. But I'm not sure. I can always bring it up in a staff meeting though.

Yeah, there are ups and downs. I do believe that the queue system would majorly improve that. It would just be good if we could get more people playing the other gametypes because they are like ghost towns.

But what would happen with all the different regions? A different hub for each? We do have five different regions after all.

Stop comparing it with the Hive :p Other communities have done it as well such as the Shotbow network (MineZ)

This is a good idea and it would be great to add MCTF2 to the Hub as well, since MCSG does own that community. It is rather simple to set up, I've done it before, all you need is:
BungeeCord (For the proxy server, the thing that enables players to tp to other servers without a client)
Transporter (The plugin that links the servers together)

The only problem you would have to get around is the 'spam sign to join' method. Each region would need to have one big dedicated server, around 32Gb's RAM big, each server would get 2-4Gb's of RAM. (If each server had 2Gb's of RAM, you'd get 16 servers per region, that's if you had only one server box per region).

If its worth it, I'm not sure. Its a good idea though.

Like many previous posts have said, the sign clicking is system is very annoying. Unless you're a donor it would be almost IMPOSSIBLE to join a game.
