For my first suggestion, I decided to focus on what happens before the games begin, and while these may not be the most important points I will make, I feel that they are small enough changes that they may be implemented. I have one point on the lobby, and two on the cornucopia. So, lets begin:

1. Time before the match: I love the lobbies, especially when I made teams all the time. I am eagerly awaiting the new lobby, with its easter eggs and parkour arena. My main problem is that they are longer then they need to be. Do I want lobbies gone altogether? No. You need some time to grasp the rules of the game and make alliances. The thing is that 5 minutes is way too much time for this. I propose that they change the time to 2 minutes and 30 seconds which is plenty of time to learn the rules, make teams, and enjoy the lobby for its design and atmosphere

2. An explosive surprise: Personally, I love it when the survival games takes a page (no pun intended) from its inspiration the hunger games. and while this suggestion may annoy people, in the end I feel it will add a layer of suspense to the start of the games. Landmines. during the minute before the games, you are not allowed to leave your pedastal. I would like to up the ante with this by, instead of just teleporting you back, blowing you up if you step off. this means you won't be able to sprint on the spot and pretend you're a race car. What this adds is tension: when should I sprint? Do I risk moving to get an inch ahead? Vareides maps have this dead stop spirit in them with the regular map of the survival games (not this servers version) where when the games start, you have to jump, then sprint. Something to annoy the n00bs, sure, but they'll learn fast...

3. Chest refills: when the sun is setting in the games, everyone has the same idea: whoever's at the cornucopia at the refill will be some overpowered god. While I do like being that overpowered god as much as anyone, I would like to still feel like I have a chance if I'm not. So what I'm proposing is that at nightfall, every chest except the ones in the cornucopia will refill. This means that every player will still have to scrounge for those other chests to get ahead. A small and subtle change like this will balance the games tremdously in my opinion.

Well, those are my points for today. Let me know if you approve and give me your ideas as well. See you next post

EDIT: Lobbies are, as of MCSGv2, 2 minutes long. Woo!

Totally agree on point one, too much time is wasted in lobby, especially as lobbys normally fill up in the first 10 seconds anyway.
An explosive surprise would be fun, seeing noobies blow up as they walk of podium would be funny too :p
kinda not sure about the corn refill, it would balance things, but it feels a bit like the corn should be a big bloodbath :D

For me I find 5 minutes just about right it gives me time to watch a video, search for songs or go to the toilet! 2 minutes 30 seconds seems okay but could be a bit short at certain times.

This idea sounds great but there could be many problems with it. The explosions could cause lag if for example all 24 players walked off at the same time causing the server to crash. Also my Minecraft decides to walk forward by itself and I have heard other people having this problem to and I wouldn't like to die because of this! Also what would happen to a player playing for his or her's first time!

I actually love this idea! It would work perfectly on maps like Sg2 or 3 with their size and difficulty to find people after refill. There are still some glitches to this idea though for example when I do not have the gear necessary to go to the corn refill I just go to the tier 2's I know and hope for good stuff so if only 1 person went to the refill at middle it would practically be a certain win![/quote]

The chest refill isn't just to get really good gear. The point of it is to bring people together to fight, like what happened in the hunger games with the feast.

Thanks for the criticism! I'm glad someone's reading these. The lobby thing is just a preference to every individual I guess. As for the mines it's a very simple explanation of the idea on my part. I think that your problem with it could be stopped by saying in the minecraft survival games chat automatically something like 'move before the games begin and you will be blown up' in the lobby. And I hope that issue with your minecraft auto-walking gets fixed soon!

Well there are other hotspots on the map (eg. The two towers on map 1, the ship on breeze island etc.) these will still have the same degree of competition as the cornucopia. The difference is they'll fight over leather instead of diamond armour. All the fun of competition but with only a slight advantage, but still an advantage.

People use this time to go on toilet, or get some food often.
It is even by now the terrible possibility for you to be at the toilet too long for some reason.
Take if you was livestreaming, you will have to go on the toilet sometimes, and the watchers will not like if you use 20 minutes just to find a game because it started while you was there.

Everyone who don't read the forum will die of this at least once.
Take if you was searching for a game in half a hour, then this happens to you.

The one that can take it and hold it, deserves it.

1) I think the time limit on Lobbies has been disscussed before, and they're keeping it at 5 minutes. One reason for this is for people who aren't donors to get into the lobby. Say the time limit it 2:30. A donor kicks a player when there is 15 seconds until the game begins. It gives the player less of a chance to get back into the game. This time also gives people a chance to do whatever they need to, cool off if they had a bad game, make teams, get food, that sort of thing.
2) Seems like a good idea, but new players as well as people who dont read the forms would be in for a real surprise when they blow up for stepping off their plate to early. Would It be funny? Yes. But it could be very frustrating too. Good idea though. c;
3) The purpose of a chest refill is to give the "Careers", or players with the best gear, to become even more OP. I could go on a rant of how that all depends on PVP and plain SG skills, but the player probably worked hard to get to the top in the game. Not refilling the chests will shorten the game, because the OP player will now have to run around the map, trying to find more gear while also killing everyone. This could be a good or bad thing, depending on how you look at it. However, most of this can be avoided by knowing where teir 2 chests are, (the chests with things such as diamonds, cooked food and iron armor).

I think this would just be a pain for everyone. I disagree completely, it should stay as it is because this is so much simpler and more fair.

Have my idea from @TheRandomMan1000's thread.
"Maybe after refill, all the tier 2 chests on the map become a mix of tier 1/2 so that they can spawn both tiers of items. This reduces the chances of getting too much OP gear at refill, and doesn't make it so that the corn chests have to be empty."

Hey there! Sorry for the lateness of my reply. As of MCSGv2, lobbies are shorter, so I'm only going to address your other two points.
2: I do feel that people mis-interpreted this idea of mine. Don't worry, it's not just you. Yes, I am proposing landmines, but only having info on them in the forums would be daft. A way to resolve this, when you're in the lobby, 15 seconds before being taken to the map, the server shows a message informing you about the mines, as well as mentioning it the second you spawn in the map.

3: Generally the person who takes the corn is already the most powerful in the games. With the refill, the rest of the game (usually) is like monopoly, where you know who the winner is halfway through the game and the rest of the game is that person picking off the other contenders. No refill means that that player has to hunt out those other scattered tier 2's to keep the OP he has.

P.S. this post is addressed to zukodark. Dunno why it isn't letting me reply to him. :{
