Leaderboard reset/hall of fame

Ok so there are rumors about the leaderboard being reset and I am here to announce... that I have no idea if that is true or not. lol. It is probably just a rumor.
What I am really here for is to suggest it. It has nothing to do with the rumors, its just something I thought of because of the rumors.

Proposal
So I am thinking it would be cool to reset the leaderboards every year. We could probably even say every season or bi-annually, but lets stick with years for now.
We could have a section on the forums or even a tab on the top menu called hall of fame, or something like that. Every year the top 100 (or even top 50 or top 500 ect..) would be saved into the hall of fame for that year. Idk we could go as extravagant to have a big special area for the top 5 of the top 100 and the rest are listed with their stats and things, or it can be simple and basically be a screenshot of the first page of the leaderboards. Then the leaderboards would be reset for the next year to start fresh and be added to the hall of fame in another years time.

But why nate.. why
1. The leaderboards fluctuate. This is great and not so great for some players. Some players work really hard to get high on the leaderboards, then IRL happens or something and all their work goes to waste as other players easily pass them by and they drops on the leaderboards, and they are forgotten. Having this set leaderboard save, file, and restart, would be a great way to honor the hard workers of that specific time, in an eternal post on the main page! (aka hall of fame).

2. This would give newer hardcore players a chance to be on the top leaderboards since its nearly impossible for a new player to catch up to someone that has 600+ wins...
note: BUT that person with 600+ wins would never be forgotten with their place in the hall of fame so it was still worth getting so many wins!

3. Change

Other possibilities
-Maybe you could even have a total wins, and a season/annual wins section added to the leaderboards. The leaderboards would only count the seasonal/annual wins for the ranking but the total wins would be displayed for an easy way to see your lifetime kills.

I actually really like some of these ideas. I'd hate to see everyones work go to waste if they just...reset. Giving them a reason to still care for the wins yet keeping the leaderboards more accurate would be nice.

Although...with the new daily, weekly, monthly etc statistics coming with the new leaderboards soon, I'm not sure it's really needed. Those who do great now will still show up in the leaderboards under monthly, unless it's rank they are looking to get...I guess there is still a lot of people who need cleared out of the top 100...and even further.


If the leaderboards ever reset, I do hope something is done to "reward" them. A hall of fame is good enough in my opinion.

Yeah, Chad announced that recently.
Although, the leaderboard reset stuff is still just rumors as far as anyone is aware.

Apparently senior mods have announced it's being reset, heaps of players are preparing.

ANYWAY, my idea.

Don't reset the leaderboards at all, make overall for country (What we have now)
Overall for the world, (Everything put together)
Yearly for the country (Reset every year)
Yearly overall (Reset every year)
Monthly for the country (Reset every month)
Monthly overall (Reset every month)

No more than that, daily and weekly just seem to little imo, maybe daily to see who gets most wins per day, I still don't like it though.

Anyway, if this happened instead of the leaderboards being reset then alot of people would be happy.

So you're saying keep the original ones we have at the moment but add more features like yearly/monthly?

And who told you that, by chance? >.>
Rumors are rumors - just because someone says "a senior mod said so", doesn't make it automatically true.
Unless you heard it from a senior mod directly, I wouldn't believe that.

But (there's always a but) players will most properly forget about the hall of fame and only focus on the new leader boards so maybe if there was a reward system or maybe a team speak logo for being in hall of fame it would give it a bigger meaning and importance?
