I have a idea: People battle-logs when they are gonna die, if they are hit, they lose points. But if not? It is not fair. I think people should lose either 20%, 40%, 60% or 80% of the points they lose normaly.

Then it will be still too good to just battle log. The reason why I not have 100% is because it will make people logging-off for other reason suffer to bad.

What if someone joined a server, waited to see what map it would be, didn't like the map, and disconnected before being hit? How is it fair that they lose points?

And why does it even matter, to you personally? If you hit someone and they battle log, you get the points, and it's all well and good. If no one hits them, why should you care if they lose points or not? You won't be gaining any, they'll just be losing some. I don't think this is necessary, as it isn't even battle logging if they were not hit (unless someone was rushing towards them with a weapon, but the server wouldn't be able to recognize that). There is no reason for them to lose points for disconnecting if they have not yet been hit.

What's wrong with battle logging? It does nothing to you and it gains nothing to them... >.>

Maybe add timer, if game is been going for over 5 minutes and player disconnect then player would lose x amount.

Even with this, there are issues. Everyone knows the famous inescapable holes in Vareide maps. If you get trapped in one of those, there's really nothing you can do, and the only logical thing to do is D/C. Why should people be punished for that, if no one has even touched them all game? I think the current system of losing points only if you have been hit is the best way to do it.

On a slightly related note, I believe people can D/C in DM without losing points, evn if they're hit.

That is actually a good idea. There was a thread a while back where someone went into much further detail and fleshed out the idea to solve several problems at once. I will now go forum sleuthing to find it (hopefully it will work on my iPad).

^ 10 second NPC spawned where the player logged out, and when killed it drops the items and modifies the points as normal.
