People should really just have common sense. Don't buy donor 1 week before going on holiday. If you do then it's your fault your donor is being wasted.
If you have bought donor. and you are lets say 2 1/2 weeks into your gold donor and your mum says you are going to Hawaii for a trip for 5 weeks. would you really want to waste those 5 weeks of your donor, I know i wouldnt.

Does your mum out of the blue say you're going to Hawaii? Usually there's planning and other things involved. And again, it's your fault.

Yes but only for certain people.

Think about it. Having to have memory shift to the data center, take your rank off, record who/when/what happened would put a lot of stress on the data center. Just saying.

It puts stress on the Support Team too. Not only do they have to manually track who has what ranks and when, but now they have to track whose ranks are active, whose ranks are inactive, and when those ranks are supposed to reactivate. Worse yet are the complications with mistakes or malicious activity, such as ranks being deactivated or reactivated without permission, thus becoming either a nuisance or a waste of money.

On the one hand, it seems like a fair thing to have. On the other, it seems like one further complication that is entirely avoidable and runs against the general policy of most MC communities.

Yep, point in case.

Its a great idea, but its VERY difficult to implement and would create LOTS of stress on the Support Team for the reasons stated above.

I was going to say pretty much what Col_StaR said, and I doubt I can put it any better. So, I'll point out something a lot less useful. I believe in the poll and OP, the word "Implicated" should be changed to "Implemented"?

So, I am creating this thread to push an implication about have iron or gold donor put on hold.

The reason why I am trying to get this implicated is if you are going/about to leave to go on holiday, taking a short break from mc etc, I think you should be able to ask a Senior staff member to put your donor on hold, which means stopping the 1 month and 3 month timer countdown until your donor has expired. If the player abuses the way of putting it on hold, eg; putting it on hold and just redeeming it when wanted again, lets say 4 or 5 months later. Dont worry because there is only a maximum amount of days you can out it on hold for!
Maximum number of days can be bypassed if given a sufficient note explaining why you have been gone for so long. providing proof.

So, what do you think, should you be able to put your donorship on hold, or keep it the same?
I like this idea!
