I see your point, but I'm not refering to only or even mainly these servers. Minecraft has to change as a whole.

I know this was mentioned earlier, but I loved the concept of regularish PvP tournaments held by the server.

Perhaps 22 players could be selected by being voted up by others in the community for being good PvPers, and then 1 moderator who is known for PvP and 1 youtuber tacked on, also voted on by the community.

They could play first user to 3 wins.

What this would do is give the community another activity and also gives an event for people to strive for, where the competition is all insane and winning is super satisfying. It could also help define who the best PvPer really is...

Ping is always gonna be an issue in any game tbh.
To be competitive you don't really need to be a certain age unless it's for big tournaments you just need to be GOOD and qualify for whatever comes up.

I think 1.7 version of minecraft is the best for PvP out of any version IMO. If servers gonna force us to play 1.9+ then the PvP will be realistic but very bad, and the players will decrease.
I do agree on the statement that it can't be competitive in the state it is in.

The 1.7 that MCSG gave us is bad and all these bugs started coming out when they made the server compatible with 1.8. If you're going to make a server compatible with other versions then do it right. In this case MCSG can't without new bugs every week. Even though Badlion's hit detection is crappy, it's still better than mcsg's 1.7. I never thought I'd say that but it's true.
