In theory this may seem like a good idea, not two overpowering and can help reduce match times. But the main problem I see is that it does create an unfair advantage. Person A should not be able to track person B, for all we know, person B has no chance of finding person A until it is too late. This would also reduce many strategies, someone could use the compass to make sure no one is around and use a crafting table, reducing the chances of an ambush. One solution would be to give multiple items out, so everyone has a chance, but this would change to whole meaning of Survival Games in my opinion. The whole basis of Survival Games is the fear that you have no idea who is around each corner, adding this item would ruin this.
