Our Minecraft servers are offline but we will keep this forum online for any community communication. Site permissions for posting could change at a later date but will remain online.
There are about 157 mods, not every single one is going to be online (they're not robots). Some might be outside having a social life, some might be sleeping or even attending school. There are 350+ servers, at all times there are probably at most 20 mods online. The chances of you seeing one are small, but that's just because we're a large community compared to most. If you ever are in need of help or you spot a hacker, all of them are on teamspeak and are willing to help. From the 100 games I play, I don't see a moderator in any of those 100... I don't know what are they doing, seriously, but not a single moderator. Not even on the low servers....
I will be discussing each of your points in turn.
Not entirely true. While having more mods is great, at this current time we are looking for better quality of moderators over a large quantity of mods. It's better to have fewer good mods, than it is to have lots of less than good mods.
I agree. I would love to see mods really active. The only problem is that not every mod is the same. Some mods have to take time off because they want to focus on school or for other reasons, which is perfectly understandable. We cannot force people to give up their personal life to moderate the servers.
I can understand where you are coming from with this. However, mods aren't modbots. They want to have fun and enjoy the game just as much as you. It'd be kind a very unfair rule to make it so moderators cannot play in the same server together. Also, if a person comes to them with a hacker report, they are supposed to leave the server or game they are currently playing in to investigate.
We do have an anti-hack plugin, called No Cheat Plus. But, the configuration of the plugin is a fickle thing. If we make it more strict, it will interrupt vanilla gameplay to the point of making the game unplayable. But if we lessen the restrictions much more, you'll see a lot more hackers than you see already. Now, you mention our autoban for BSM. That's different. The Better Sprint Mod automatically sends packets of information to the server. Those packets tell the server that this user has BSM. We simply modified it so when our server gets that packet of info, it does an automatic ban.

Hence mod apps have been opened.
We have already seen the increase and we are hiring new mods now.
Hopefully ones which will be active enough.[/quot
Hopefully they are active.

Then again, lots of mods now enter games in Game Master, creating them to be invisible and disguised so hackers won't just turn off hacks when they see a red name come in.
sorry mate i know they do but when will a mod randomly join my game when there are usually only 20 online.
I just heard xD
I don't know if you read the thread correctly when i talked about teamspeak and when i said i did'nt mean any disrespect. But overall in a way you agreed with me, because for a server (EU) thats holds 5000 people at peak times if there are 20 staff members online then yeah MCSG has a staff problem. and might i also add like i said before that i understand that your not robots but if you are not willing to stay active as a Mod because of social life or school the don't apply.
Thanks, I mean no disrespect to anyone but if you know that you want to be Mod you have to know that if something is going to stop you being active then don't apply, if you know that you wont be able to play with other mods as much don't apply, I know being a mod is tough and iv'e heard of others it can be annoying but if you know that its going to involve all of the above don't apply simple as that. In most cases and I know this is true from speaking to others most people only apply because its like being a doner.
Exactly my point completely Glad you agree and i'm not the only person that dosent see this.
Why are you adressing yourself as staff?Hence mod apps have been opened.

Im not adressing your self as staff...Why are you adressing yourself as staff?
