If it means nothing then why are there 4 of them, which is more than one, which i think is too many.

If a staff member is doing more work than another and that other staff member wins the award because they are more popular, it is going to make them feel that their work isn't appreciated. Even if it is for fun people take it to heart when they see that their efforts aren't appreciated.

This is just my opinion but im sure others feel the same way.

Well from looking at the success rate it's having so far, I think that not too many people are bothered by it. Nevertheless, if you don't believe in this event, you don't have to take part.
